Yeah back then in the 80’s and the 90’s in hip hop you used to have to send demos to the record labels or fly out to wherever they are at and show them your raw talent now you got the internet which can get you noticed more quicker

Respect. This why Bone deserves all the awards, millions, fans etc. they got because they really went after it. But their talent is what made them legends. With social media and different platforms now, new artists can push their products hard there, but if the talent ain’t there, might have to switch it up. If you got a dream and drive, you can level yourself up!

Wow, that clip of Tone Loc. I haven't seen him in so long. I'm very glad that we still have him. I mean, it's nice to know that they addressed it together many years later. And it's also nice to see that Layzie understands now that he's a legend himself. That shit made me genuinely feel bad though when he described himself and the rest of the group as "hungry little kids". That's exactly what they were. But look, their struggle paid off. I have a strong appreciation here for the WAY that Layzie told this story. I think a lot of artists would take the defensive, or embellish it. But Lay did that shit with such humility- it was a humbling experience he had as a younger man, and they persevered. I am very grateful that they did because Bone Thugs n Harmony is a very big part of my life and music throughout my life. Their music is associated with the very few happy memories I have as a kid which turn out to be just the time I got to spend with my brothers.
@wraithyoshidj67025 ай бұрын
Loc didn't have to be talking with that energy in his interview tho
@WaldoBagelTopper5 ай бұрын
@@wraithyoshidj6702 i agree. I noticed that. But then heard layzie say that they’ve addressed it since and then Layzie spoke about with so much humility that I just brushed it off like I’m sure Layzie did. Love Tone. Will never deny he’s a legend. But that this point, and I say this with as much respect as I can, he’s in the golden years of his visibility and career. He’s not exactly “on” anymore. So what was Bone going to do? Start the next East/west beef over it? 😂 I’m sure they were like “meh, we made it, who cares”.
@wraithyoshidj67025 ай бұрын
@@WaldoBagelTopper addressing it is more reason why that energy was misplaced. If it's squashed to why is he barking?
@WaldoBagelTopper5 ай бұрын
@@wraithyoshidj6702 well, like I said. Who knows? I guess my point is that it’s over and so far in the past, that who cares? Is Tone Loc going to go viral over it? What percentage of today’s audience do you even think KNOWS who Tone Loc is? The members of Bone Thugs are in their 50s now lol. Should they have taken it as disrespect? And if so, was this going to go to Verzuz? Beef on records? Beef on the streets. Just old samurais telling stories man. That’s it. Nothing more. You can’t look into everything that deep. We can have this conversation if we’re talking about whatever young guys are out now that DEPEND on this kind of publicity. But something tells me that it’s just not that serious. One time as a kid, I got yelled at by an old neighbor in my parent’s neighborhood. She still lives there. God has given her a nice long life. Sometimes when I visit my folks the old lady gives me nasty looks still 😁 should I “get her”?
