Why does anime/old animations go so well with new retro wave ?!
@tonyspiral67347 жыл бұрын
omar khan because most anime and cartoons in the 80s and 90s had more style. They wanted to keep up with a more edgy style so when you hear retro wave, it reminds you of either edginess or the genre itself sounds like an 80s/90s style of music.

I'm one of the lucky few that own a rare copy of the original Rock & Rule - the first and best, before a studio fire destroyed their masters. Set to this dreamy eclectic music, the visuals spark all manner of wonderful R&R memories! LOVELY!

There is something about the OG 80s animation stuff that modern stuff overlooks. I feel like the old stuff grounds it to reality better by adding detail that the things would leave out. I also feel like the old animators got outside more and added more things that you only really see when your out a lot.

I feel Rock 'n' Rule is vastly underrated, it's one of those things that you see when your a kid, it buries itself into your subconsciousness, and it sticks with you into adulthood, it's easily one my favorite animated films of all time sitting right next to Heavy Metal. I seriously wish this movie would get a Blu ray release along with a legit soundtrack release as well, that final scene with "Send love through" still gets me to this day, I freaking love it.

I remember this cartoon! I rented it on VHS when I was a little kid in the mid-late 80s maybe and distinctively remember renting it twice because I was that mesmerised by it! ... Never forgot about the story but never knew the anime's name. Years later I tried to search for it on the net using the words "my name is Mok thanks a lot" and I discovered it! That song had stuck in my mind! Tried to contact the company that published it and asked whether they were going to release it on DVD (this is probably back in 2008 maybe) and they said no! Eventually, I downloaded it on the net, could not believe that I could actually find it! Thanks for uploading! There is another (similar?) anime that I had on tape as a kid, it was a short one. That one was about a rock musician (in the form of a mouse I think) who sold his guitar because he couldn't make any money from his music and his partner/girlfriend had cooperated with a big company who made her a massive music star, but she completely forgot about the other poor musician guy along the way! In the end it was revealed that the company is the "devil" in disguise and he was behind all this! He was selling music just for the profit but never cared about the ethical and honest work one puts for making good music! The girl decided to break the contract with the profit-making company but demons emanated from the earth and setup a trial where the "devil" boss was defending that she signed an agreement and can't break from it! Eventually the poor musician guy finds one tiny clause in the contract that breaks her free! I don't remember the name of the anime, it was all hand-drawn, if this rings a bell to anyone out there please let me know. I am sure I still have it on tape somewhere, but never bothered to go through my pile of VHS at my house all these years! Many thanks! ------- Edited: you know what? I found it! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil_and_Daniel_Mouse kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXm9hXZnoc90bpY
