@howardkerr81742 жыл бұрын
I used to think that I had a black thumb when it came to plant nurturing, I am now thinking it may only be dark grey. I have 3 hibiscus plants, 2 were here when I bought my house and a year later I planted one from a store. All are now nearly 6 feet tall or taller, but this year the flowers have been very few. I now realize that I need to prune the plants and even better: I can now make use of the " excess growth " to make more plants. I look forward to trying your tips, thank you sir.

Do I need to wash the roots take the soil off or it was just to show how roots developed
@eponymousIme7 ай бұрын
@@estelaburciaga177 No need to wash the roots. But if they have grown over each other in a clump or tangle, you should *gently* separate them so each root is untangled and able to take up soil nutrients and water unimpeded.

Sure shot quickest way for cuttings...always works Take the cuttings, remove all leaves except one or two...keep them in water..an old mug or bottle will do..change water every two days..in 10 days there will be visible roots in the immersed portion and new leaves in the top...you plant after 10 to 14 days..every cutting will become alive..flowering also happens very quickly

Hi, buddy, thanks for sharing your experience. You once mentioned that the best season to grow from cutting is spring or rainy season. What do you mean rainy season? and why? Your local specific season? I live in Los Angels, our rainy season (wet season) is the winter, here only rain in the winter, does it mean it is a good season for hibiscus growth? So I think it might mean your local season not generic. Am I right? Maybe I can try next spring time? I once tried to grow HIbiscus using cuttings in the water, but kind it did not work even though some people showed that it works. BTW, I like hibiscus flowers, it has so many species, and kind of blooming all year round. I have some videos about hibiscus on my KZbin channel. Thanks.
@melgoolcharan68163 жыл бұрын
Tropical countries have 2 seasons: rainy season and dry season. Some tropical countries have a season change 4 times a year, while some others have a season change 2 times a year, depending on geography. So your translation of winter/spring/summer/autumn would be dry/wet/dry/wet with each season being roughly 3 months long or just dry/wet with each season being 6 months long. And in this case, the op is referring to your spring.

Hello Chandan Saw your post on Nasturtium and really impressed with its bloom. I have them too though no bloom as yet and several times have observed yellowing of leaves- what could that be due too? What is the soil mix you advise? Tony Goa
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Anthony Pereira, Thank you so so much for liking it, appreciate it. About the yellow leaves - I am going to cover about that in my Nasturtium video. I would try to upload it ASAP. Anyway, few Yellow leaves is fine..but if we get more and at the same time it's not blooming, then there is a problem and we need to fix two things - 1. Proper fertilizing 2. Proper watering. For Potting soil mix, I use - Normal Soil - 60%, Cocopeat - 20% and Vermicompost - 20%. Nasturtiums are picky about water requirements. They need more water during growth time and less water when they start to bloom. Anyway, I would really try my best to provide as much details as possible, thank you :-)
