NOW THAT IS A COVER! Wow, wow.... now I gotta hear the original because Joe and Co. just killed this! If you have any other great Deep Purple songs or covers or Joe B. Songs I should check out, i'm open to suggestions...

You Fool No One, by Deep Purple from the California Jam. I've probably suggested it before, but that's because I think it is that good. Also check out Joe B with Black Country Communion.

Jimmy Barnes is vocalist extraordinaire!!!!!, no idea who’s on the organ but he sure does look familiar

You REALLY , REALLY need to listen to the original studio version (Impeccable awesome sound !! ) Also " Mistreated " live , album " Made in Europe ". I met Joe Bonamassa in person incredibly while working at a second hand store ( He was going to have a show at a theater a couple of blocks away ), he signed ( Initials ) on a guitar pic for a co worker. He bought some old records, and I made him smile when I sang : " Hey, Joe, where you're going with those records in your hand " :P

Jimmy Barnes or “Barnsey” as he is known in Australia has an incredible voice and is a massive legend over here. Lead singer for Cold Chisel plus had a very successful solo career. Definitely worth doing a deep dive into his catalog. Some recommendations… Jimmy sings Stone Cold with Joe Bonamassa, Good Times with INXS and When Something Is Wrong With My Baby with John Farnham.

The drummer was Anton Fig, the Dave Letterman band drummer for 30 years. Jimmy Barnes from Australia was the singer. Arlan Schierbaum was on organ, and the other guitarist was Brad Whitford (Aerosmith).

Yes, excellent pick! They all knew how to play! If you listen to Deep Purple s version, I'd say the studio version before The Made In Japan version!!

Jimmy Barnes was the vocalist, he is a Aussie rock legend. It was Arlan Schierbaum on the keys, Anton Fig on drums and the late great Michael Rhodes on the bass. Also collaborating on this recording was Brad Whitford of Aerosmith fame. It's obvious to me that this is how world class musicians have fun.

Michael Rhodes legendary bassist can probably count more songs he's not played on. RIP. Joe's catalog is huge. It depends on the flavor you are looking for. Studio version of Redemption or Live Hollywood bowl or etc

I don't care much for Deep Purple covers, but this is a great one. I believe Jimmy Barnes was considered as a replacement for Ian Gillan back in the 1990's, but I don't think he ever auditioned. It's a lot closer to the studio original than the way Deep Purple would perform it in concert, but it lacks the harmonica, and some of Ian Paice's swing. It was one of their best vehicles for spontaneity and Ritchie and Jon would change things quite a bit from night to night, so I tend to prefer the live takes over the one from Machine Head.

Brad Whitford took at least two turns at the lead but was barely shown. Granted, he’s used to being overshadowed by Joe Perry in Aerosmith, but I wish they had shown his hands more.
@blitztim64163 күн бұрын
He can really play. He didn’t have many opportunities with Aerosmith but he can solo. You can tell by the guitar tone when he’s playing.
