Q: How to make baked beans? A: Get two cans of baked beans from the store. I don't know what I expected.

This kinda reminds me of my grandmothers Stovetop baked beans. Basically you browned up like a pound or two of ground beef. throw in a few cans of pork and beans to desired thickness and add ketchup, yellow mustard and brown sugar to taste.

I've tried audio books, but honestly nothing beats just reading it.
@ljbissonnette456210 жыл бұрын
I agree. I love to SAVOR every single word. I also love to "instant replay" a single line or paragraph in a heartbeat when something especially appeals to me. Or confounds me. I hate having to RW or FF search for anything. It kind of spoils the moment. Most people I know prefer the audible books. I try telling them they don't know what they're missing.
@lughfiregod1610 жыл бұрын
LJ Bissonnette I also read *so* much faster then you can speak the words out low. So it feels painfully slow. I read an average novels in 10 hours or less most of the time.

But, I searched, lazier than a bean

I only read when I know I will be able to completely relax and become totally immersed in the story. I think being so relaxed allows you to read much faster. I read Gone with the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) and The Source (James Michener) in about 8-10 hours each. Both were about 1,000 pages, give or take a few. And both were exceptionally well written and extremely engrossing.

Jack, I love your show. You know I do. I have even tried several of the recipes you've posted on your channel. So I hope you don't take this as a trolling comment. But you just added BBQ sauce and bacon to canned beans. This is not really a recipe. It's not even lazy man. It's one step away from teaching me how to make toast. This is probably the first time I've been disappointed by one of your videos. :(

Dude. Willie1811 was right. I had a bunch of requests to post the video when I said I was making it for the family bbq in Kentucky. Trust me when I say this wasn't scheduled. In fact I was late to the event because of filming. I was honest when I said I just threw the camera on. I've done that once before with my peppers, onions and eggs video years ago. It was dinner and Tammy said I should film and share it. I also reviewed frozen chicken on a spur of the moment.

Hence the "Lazy Man's" tag. It's not uncommon for those recipe to be rather simple - And you know what? That's totally fine. There's a place for these kind of things, and they only come up every once in a blue moon. Besides, he was asked to do this, so you can hardly complain here.

Cooking With Jack Show Jack, my weekend live show friend. You know I meant nothing bad. I am merely offering feedback and saying that,in my opinion, this particular video was a bit too simple to be a full fledged video (even if it was requested on social media). Everyone wants honest and constructive feedback, right? I appear to be in the minority since people are clearly defending your choice. It's all good. Everyone has opinions and sometimes they can be different. :)

When I was growing up we always called these baked beans "doctored". They were always delicious because moms only add what they know their families love most. "Doctored" recipes have always been a working mother's best friend because they're always quick and easy. Thanks Jack.

Cooking With Jack Show I bought a couple of the Samurai Sharks many years ago when Billy Mays first introduced them. Mine didn't come with any instructions so they sat in junk drawers and toolboxes until I watched your video. I love that my cheap starter knives are now useable. They, too, had been banished to the junk drawer for many many years. Thank you.

Jack, it bothers me to no end when people fry bacon whole (takes forever) then dice it up. Just dice it from the package...so easy! cooks faster, too. not to offend you but are you not the invented of the suace and if so is it not a bit odd that you do know the ingredentents in it?
@TheRagekage98410 жыл бұрын
I think that the reason he didn't say what spices were in his sauce is because it was a quick video and the sauce was just one of the ingredients in the main dish the baked beans. Yes the sauce is a brand that he created himself but he wasn't trying to make the video onto a commercial for his sauce. Im sure he has the spices in the bbq sauce listed somewhere else like his website if your curious. Hope that helps clear that up. :)
