At least 2 of the waterparks I've been to in the last year in the US had a choice of lazy rivers. One was the completely tame just float around and gently bounce off the walls and the others were a lot less lazy. Universal's Volcano bay has something pretty close to what the Mexican one was, except no tubes, just flotation vests.

There’s something like this in Tennessee too. I’ve been there, and it’s not called a lazy river. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with bears?
