that's a quality mic you got there, Julian. almost studio quality! it might sound even better if you install loads of blinking LED's around the handle.
@MOHAMADGHOUL817 жыл бұрын
That's simple project and basic, it doesn't need a trimmer and the coil has no need for winding, already on PCB. And the low transmitting range is comfortable for home room distance. Thank you for your spending efforts.

Martin Rabson - The soldering iron shouldn't touch the spring, it just forces the iron to stay on all the time trying to heat up the metal! Most holders have a heat proof 'plastic' holder that fits the iron and holds it centrally. Look up "weller solder station"

I have an old school degaussing coil intended for CRT's; had it for eons. ID measures about 11 1/4" (286mm), and works great for most anything you can pass through it... or wave it over for all that matter. With coil & tool/s held at arms length, energize coil, bring coil & objects together and wave through coil, then separate *before* releasing coil switch. Full cycle only needs to be 7 seconds or so. Check ebay for the coil's...

I used to use one of those degausing coils in my very first job eons ago :-)

For your nippers, take any magnet and touch it to them. Then slowly pull them apart to to pull all the tiny magnetic pixies out of the nippers. Pull them apart quickly to leave the magnetic pixies trapped in the nippers. For the mic 'pop', putting a glove on it can be handy! :-D

Watch the clipping wires, I've blown up a bench power supply that way. A lead managed to slip right through a vent hole and into the PCB inside. Boom!.. I recommend that you keep a finger in contact with the leads as you clip, just to dampen the energy a bit.

You and your 'Poofs' :-) I was taught 'Puff' when I was a teenager so that's my version. A quick way to de-magnetize your side-cutters is to hit it with another piece of metal. Obviously not causing damage in the process :-)

I would have thought that a better way to go is to put the local oscillator through a phase splitter to get I and Q then I goes through a DSB modulator then combined with the Q phase then quadrupled up to the required frequency, (I think the method is the Amstrong FM modulator)

This must be a close relative of one of the first things I ever made... course that was marketed as a bugging device (cold war was still on & everything) TBH never was sure what was doing the frequency modulation but afaict RF stuff just works by magic dancing pixies - the pixies were pleased with the spiral track and agreed to do the appropriate dance on it.

Why would copper wires stick to magnetized cutters?
@paulsengupta9717 жыл бұрын
Copper?
@RobertShaverOfAustin7 жыл бұрын
Yes. Copper is a very good conductor and used widely in electronic components. Silver and gold are better but are also non-magnetic. Could be aluminium but also non-magnetic. Just wondering.
@petehiggins337 жыл бұрын
Most resistor leads are made from tin plated steel, copper is too expensive. It's been that way for at least 40 years. Copper is only used for high power resistors where heat conduction through the leads is more important. Glass bodied components use other alloys which have a temperature coefficient of expansion matched to the glass to prevent cracking.
