They have no instinctual recognition of their offspring if say, they show up when the kitten is already 8+ weeks old. Feral males have been known to recognize kittens of rivals that are not theirs and kill them and not kill their own though but they are generally present through the kittens life if only to protect them and their territory. Domesticated males it really comes down to individual personality, you can find a bunch of videos on youtube of male cats adopting stray kittens or even sometimes other animals that are brought into the home, some male cats just have a nurturing personality.

I love this trio. I have to come and see them every day several times. Kiki is so cute and intellingent. She understood that Mimi cannot reach her in narrow places, but although she hides from her, her love makes her in the end go to Mimi. I am so glad that I saw Coco kissing and grooming Kiki. I think he was afraid of her when she was very tiny, now he sees her more like a cat so he approaches her and shows his affection. Kiki fell with the basket, she reminded me of Coco who had the same incedent when he was younger. The good is that when she fell, she was not afraid and approached the basket again. 👍👍👍❤❤❤❤

It’s so sweet to see Coco licking little Kiki’s nose and she doesn’t mind at all, and Mimi is letting him do that. It’s also cute how Kiki just loves little holes to hide in but Mimi hates it when she’s in them. Kiki seems to be getting healthier as she gets bigger. She doesn’t seem to be breathing as hard. Maybe Mimi realizes that.

These cats act like humans, the way they love and show their love for their baby, and the way they protect her. And Kiki also trust them and looks up to them and relies on them like real human babies/toddlers do their parents. Kiki also has a great set of paws for a kitten!
