For the curious: The Glitch Mattman exploits in this video is an exploit in how isaac saves what pool an item came from. When you pick up an item, the game looks at the last called item pool and saves that to your inventory alongside the item, so it knows what pool to call in the event of a reroll. Notably, this pool does not have to match the pools the item is found in, it only cares what the *most recently seen item pool* is when collecting the item. If you fight the boss last, and only then pick up everything, they will all be considered "Boss Items" by any future rerolls. Usually, this short-term memory loss has no real effect, 'cause you would need to reroll your entire inventory to even notice it and that's not something you typically try to do. But you can see it on other characters through d4, d100, or the Dice Rooms that Reroll You.

Throughout the video mattman seems to think it's about the last Collected item, but it's actually the last Spawned item. You do not need to Take a devil deal in order for it all to be considered devil room items. You just need to enter the devil room. The reason Krampus doesn't count is because Lump of Coal/Krampus' Head are a fixed boss drop, and do not call the devil pool, thus do not update the "Last Seen Pool" in the game's memory. This also happens if you get one of the Horsemen, who are guaranteed to spawn Cube of meat or Ball of Bandages. Those don't call the boss pool, and as such don't update the "Last Seen Pool" either.

I wanted to find where the mess ups that were mentioned at 16:05 are so heres my best guess. At 16:05 everything past chaos seem randomized but I think that makes some amount of sense. The main floors to focus on are Dross II and Caves II and Dank Depths I. Dross II went mostly smoothly but I think the quit out to get mom's key at 8:00 switched mom's key to the shop pool and randomized lusty blood(my logic being there was no "Last seen" pool) Caves II is weird though. I think that might be a tainted Eden moment in the sense that taking self damage (9:36) before grabbing all the items could have reset the pre existing items to no pool. Dank Depths I is also weird. If the self damage at 9:36 would reset the pools then leaving the curse room would have messed with the pools in some way 13:17. Abaddon and skinny odd being the result. Another idea would be that monster manual messed with it by being a newly "seen" item even though it's an active. And for the small rock(Necropolis II) sitting there I think that since the last seen item before picking Guppy's Collar was a story item it might've been randomized. Caves II - Necropolis II is entirely a guess. I'll be unlocking tainted eden tomorrow to find out if self damage could be a factor since that makes the most sense to me. And for Dross II I feel mostly right.

Hi Matt! I'm early enough that you'll (maybe) see this comment, if you haven't already, you should absolutely try the "reworked enemies" Mod! It REALLY livens up the gameplay and adds a few new twists to a lot of normal enemies, making them a lot harder, but also a lot less BS! (and if you're wondering, it does rework how some bosses and even how some CHAMPION bosses work too, I think you'd really like it!)
