LB Final: USA vs. Sweden - Nations Cup Finals - Heroes of the Storm

The Heroes Nations Cup is a Heroes of the Storm tournament series, leading to an offline final in Berlin Germany! The main event takes place on June 10th & 11th and has the participating teams fight for a minimum prize-pool of $5000! In total 6 teams will be able to qualify for the offline part of the Heroes of the Storm tournament and represent their country (4x EU, 1x NA, 1x Asia)! To make the drafts and games more interesting for the audience and players, the tournament will adopt part of the META Madness ruleset: each hero can only be played ONCE within a match (Bo3/Bo5).

Thank you for these VOD’s. I didn’t know about the Hero’s Nations Cup when it was going on. I thought Heroes Esports was absolutely gone after HGC and the poor showing at CCL. Just imagine a heartstone map where you occasionally kill red and yellow colloured minions to craft cards, which kill each other and deal damage to the nexus like ToD Some Diablo IV Chars, ect ect. banned for the entire series - not allowed to be picked. throughout the tournament as more crowdfunding goals were hit they added more heroes to the pre-bans list. they determined these heroes by taking the most picked/banned heroes in the earlier rounds - but they also allowed the top 4 sponsors to "save" one of the heroes. so Hogger, Sylvanas, Hanzo, and Diablo were saved from the prebans.

@@berkeunal5773 yes but it did give an incentive for people donating to the prize-pool to be one of the top donators, thus increasing the prize-pool. the only issue that i personally had with the format is that there was too much of a disparity of pre-banned heroes for the Grand Finals role-wise. Only 1 ranged DPS hero banned when it's the most populated role, and 4 healers and 4 tanks banned when they are the roles with the least heroes. made the Grand Finals less enjoyable IMO

@@berkeunal5773 This tournament cost me right about $60K USD out of pocket, after factoring in the money from GFM and other sponsors. I needed to come up with some incentive for people to donate other than get their name on the live stream on the credits. Blizzard didn't help with this. I'm just some guy who really likes HOTS. This also gets the community involved in the LAN finals. It was unfortunate that so many tanks and healers were banned. However, it does go to show that at high level play, tanks and healers are more impactful. Also, I saved Sylvanas.

I'll be honest its good to see top players playing everyday heroes that are not on meta for a long time, but at the same time these rules seem a little too off! its up the the BAN fase for the teams to cancel each other strenghs... Maybe next time instead of fix bans, you can give each team another 2-3 bans on top of the already 3 on game so up to them to pick their best strategy. also, only use hero one time is also nonsense... again, up to the ban fase for the teams to show their inteligence in canceling enemy team.
