Most people do not understand what diversity hiring involves. My wife works in local government, the way their hiring works is that everything that individualises a candidate, apart from their qualifications, written application and work experience is removed from the panel who shortlist for interview. This means the people who come to interview could look like anyone. They are then interviewed by a random panel who have strict scoring criteria, so they cannot exercise any personal choice. The person who gets the job is the person who scores highest. This is the full inclusive hiring policy, similar to the way it's done most professional places. Very different to the way Trump has hired his billionaire friends, his family members and a gaggle of young blond women to run Americaland.

Yes, DEI is not the same as "positive discrimination", where you have to meet stated quota numbers of minority employees. “Even if it’s true” it’s not true because that is not how DEI works. DEI opens doors it allows more people from different backgrounds to enter the space, it doesn’t reduce or make things easier. For example pilots still have to have the same amount of training, same amount of flying time, same amount of time on simulators…none of that has been changed by DEI, what has been changed is opening opportunities up to allow more people to try out. If people don't meet the criteria, they don't pass the exams, they don't do the training, then they don't become pilots. This is typical Trump pushing a lie an pretending that somehow reflects reality...exactly what he did (and continues to do) with the "stolen election" lie.

Given that the FAA is ultimately responsible for ensuring Air Traffic services at SQL, we requested temporary FAA staffing in the tower. HOWEVER, the FAA informed us this morning that they will NOT provide temporary personnel. The letter went on to say much much more about concerns for flight safety. On TRUMP’s 2ND DAY, HE: 1. Fired the head of the Transportation Security Administration 2. Fired the entire Aviation Security Advisory Committee 3. Froze hiring of all Air Traffic Controllers 4.
