As a security officer previously , I've observed troubling practices across various sectors. In medical settings, receptionists sometimes act as doctors, raising safety concerns. At airports, it's strange that some security guards who barely speak English can pass the SIA exam and get job with agencies and profile travelers like Home Office staff or arrest people who haven’t done anything in supermarkets , leading to misunderstandings. Additionally, airport cleaners often use the same wipe for toilet seats and sinks, and when addressed, they often respond with "no speak English." These issues suggest that some companies prioritize cost-cutting over hiring qualified professionals, compromising safety and service quality.

The PA and AA role is pointless. If they cant do things independently, they dont save any time or provide better care. Theyre replacements for doctors, but dont take the responsibility and frankly this makes them useless. Hire more doctors. Theres a lot of shortages and covering gaos with underqualified and unsafe professionals is inappropriate

Makes no sense. How can a physician associate both free up doctors but also need direct supervision? How can they the caller say she discusses every case but knows how to manage the simple stuff? (Miss Chesterton's PA thought her blood clot was the simple stuff) How can a supervising doctor safely prescribe unless they see a patient and if that's the case, what is the point? "I want to practice medicine without being a doctor" at the end basically sums it up

They need defined roles and always in addition to doctors never as replacement because they don't have the same level of education or speciality. Said by someone who obviously wants private healthcare. Which will cost way more. Will leave people without cover and overall worse outcomes. The only people who want this are those working for big pharma companies and the insurance companies. Look at the comparisons by people from the US who now live here or people from the UK who now live in the USA. I’ve seen a few and not one of them doesn’t think the NHS is better. There is case for going over to one of the continental systems of funding. But let’s be clear. We have fewer hospital beds than any of them, we have fewer doctors per 100,000 people. We have fewer nurses than most. And we spend less money than most. We also make use of private health services, which diverts public money to those companies and their shareholders. Too much NHS money ends up paying over the odds for services the NHS could be providing cheaper if they were allowed to. The Tories have spent 14 years diverting NHS money out to their mates. With policies that force GP surgeries to pay more for a AA than they pay for a GP when there are GPs out of work and cannot get work due to these policies. We have agency nurses which cost a fortune because we don’t allow hospitals to recruit enough full time staff. All in their quest for privatisation. To put our tax money in the pockets of the already rich. Just like the Privatised Water Companies. Just like the PPE scandal. I’m a believer in capitalism. But these monopolies and restrictive practices are the enemy of efficient spending.
