Rishi Sunak has said that the only poll that matters is on July 4, after a new survey suggested that the Conservatives could be destined for a General Election wipeout.
The Survation poll suggests that the Conservatives could win only 72 seats at next month's election, down from the 365 they won at the 2019 vote.
A separate poll from Savanta saw the Tories record their lowest-ever vote share with the pollster under Rishi Sunak’s leadership at 21%, with Labour holding a 25-point lead on 46% of the vote.
Chris Hopkins, who conducted the poll for Savanta, joins Lewis Goodall to go through the numbers.

Those that were comfortable just didn’t see the misery that was all around them. They ignored the threat to our best traditions. Our grandparents built a better Britain ( the NHS and so on). I'm Irish, and thus an immigrant as well here in the UK, where I've been for almost 4 years. I'm happy to pay my taxes, give to charity, donate to food banks etc etc etc etc - but all I've seen in my time in the UK from the Tories is their breathtaking corruption, cruelty, incompetence, and more recently, overt racism - by any metric, they've left British people (and people passing through, like myself) sharply worse off, with collapsing services, broken social support systems, and millions of people relying on food banks simply to exist, while meanwhile, FDI has largely collapsed, economic trade with Europe has collapsed, various sectors are fundamentally broken, and avenues of social and cultural progression and cohesion alike have been blocked off, with the already fragile bonds that tie British people together fraying at the seams. And in the background of this broken Britain, utter charlatans like Nigel Farage and the odious Reform party have come slithering forward, overtaking the rotten Tories to chase the disaffected and disenfranchised votes out there, which I'd comfortably wager will soon see that particular party blaming all immigrants for Britain's ills. Frankly, while Labour are less than persuasive with their claims and policies and general whinges - largely seeming to be coasting along on a Not Tories So Will This Do? ticket - they still should take over, to get the wretched Tories out of power and cast into whatever political wilderness is suitable for the likes of Rishi and Cruella and His Excellency, Lord Moggy, the Ambassador for the 18th Century to roam around in. Brexit was already an absolute farce and a catastrophe for Britain - unless you're a retired, ageing white southern English voter, I've no idea what kind of lunatics would keep the Tories in power - aren't you already poor enough after their rule?! - and continue backing the party that provided such inspirational leaders as BoJo and Liz Truss. Frankly, I'd vote for the cabbage rather than the Tory party, at this stage - at least a cabbage is useful.

Still one of their worst defeats, one that its going to take two or even three terms to recover from but not political extinction. That is fine for me I am nearly 60 so by the time the return to power I will be either too old to care or six foot under.

With tactical voting, the Lib Dem’s could become the Opposition. They are up by at least a couple of points in most polls this week, and Ed Davey is getting more recognition thanks to his daft antics. Many people criticise him for doing the same thing Boris did in playing the clown, but Davey’s strategy only extends to grabbing attention before moving on to actual policies and solid debate, whereas Boris was all about the attention grabbing and nothing else - he was eternally winging it and looking for the next soundbite.
