The heel is slightly higher, little less padding. Heels were made higher to lock your foot in more and keep it from slipping out. As well the rubber outsole besides the gloss finish, it’s higher for better grip. The pattern was made bigger for the same reason. Also there’s a sort of plate on the bottom sole so instead of it being flexible when having in hand and trying to bend in half you can’t. Pop Cush no different just slimmed by the slightest.

You forgot to mention the heel stiffner in the sole, its like a flat piece of plastic within the sole to add more hold so it doesn't get too floppy

Do you own a pair? This is the thing I was most interested in when I heard about it. The last classic style I tried to skate were Era’s and they always hurt my foot because the inner area of the shoe wasn’t tall enough and the upper pushed down hard on the bridge of my foot. Wondering if the change with these is super minor and barely noticeable, or actually big enough to help.

@@geoken2 You could have a tall in step. I would recommend to try a pair of Skate Old Skools they should open up a bit more compared to an Era for sure.

@@geoken2 definitely different, bought a pair of off white era the other day. The fit is much better in the shoe. I had the same issue with fit before. Only issue I had was with the new shoe was the vinyl heel material. It’s cut my heel on first day.

How do they compare to comfycush? For me comfycush weren't comfy on the toes. The insole was too thick there and my toes had basically no freedom, but otherwise they were more comfortable than regular old skool. However I've changed my old skool insole with a 3rd party one that's thicker on the heel and they became instantly more comfy than comfycush. Now that I need new ones I'm wondering if I should go for skate version or just the the regular and change the insole again.

Got blisters on my heals the first day wearing this new design. The old Pro's were a way better fit. Grew up in Anaheim and been wearing vans for 45+ years. After going through 50 or more pairs, bummed to see the change.

How true to size were these? I bought some DCs that the 13s fit like an 11 and some Lakai that fit like a 12. Either my foot is npw a 14/15 (all my other shoes and boots are 13) or the plant in china been fucking up

Hello, for people who wear this shoes in the past, I need to know if they are good for daily use,I don't skate😊 I like the Vans design, I have a Vans sk8 Hi,but are not to comfortable,the shape is good for my foot,I heard the comfycush are better for confort,the popcush is similar to comfycush? With OG Vans Sk8 hi I don't have problems with the shape etc,just the insole is a little rigid,for example Jordan 4 is not a good shape for me,I returned them after 30 minutes of test,worst confort and design for a shoes.Please help I want this shoes because are on sales,I buy them at least if they have the same confort as standard Vans Sk8. PS others said you need to "break in" to be more comfortable,I am a little old and I don't have time to"break in".I want confort out of box 😊

Lot of blisters in heels..reconstruction the heel or many will be disappointed.. it seems like a soccer shoe ..i mean you wear it only in skating.. then you have to wear an o comfort sleep on to avoid blisters..😢
