I think Banks cautioned about turbine drive pressure being much higher than boost pressure.

It’s all about application. Old Banks was running a giant 8085 single, not something you’d want to drive on the street.

Curious how much lambda changes with the oval bowl. I would assume they would be a lot more smokey

Awesome video. Data is awesome. I dont own nor do I plan on owning a duramax, but I love your videos because you are thorough. Had you done oil analysis on the motor during all these incremental changes? Curious if that would have told any of the story. Also curious what IAT's were and any sort of change in those as the power increased.

Was this a fresh engine when you started dyno testing with it? Or was it a used engine out of a truck and if so, how many miles where on it before it was used for dyno tested. Just curious. Great video Nick.

It was a used engine. Freshened up the heads and fuel system. If I said I knew how many miles were on the bottom end I'd be lying. Salvage yard stuff..

Quickly melting a hole thru the piston at 700hp likely means your runs at 600hp would have a the same issue if held for more than a short dyno run. Hard to consider that "safe" at all.

We're all welcome to our opinions. I'm certainly not going to twist your arm to run 600HP continuous on your engine if you're not comfortable.

Above 500 horse pwr...with all stock components and a tuner, slightly larger turbo...how many miles would you expect to get from the lbz.

what about an LML with 100 overs and 10mm cp3. how much power can it safely live at? thinking of going that route and either stealth 67 or 64. would a 67 blow up my stock lml

I have the same question I’ve got a 68/73 dual sportsman’s but I’ve heard and seen people run those trucks 800-900 hp with stock bottom end I think the lml has stronger internals bottom end than previous models I may be wrong but you see a lot of lbz failed over 700 and a lot of people running 700-800 on lml with no issues

I have been to 7 so called diesel mechanics, my 06 lbz Trans and engine run hot only when towing. I changed out the thermostats , coolant, fan clutch. Some say it's the heads, others the water pump then others say egr valve and cooler or radiator. I have clean the stacks and all is stock. I don't trust parts changes it can become very expensive! The problem started in 2021 with 145k miles on it, I was pulling my 20 foot travel trailer which weighs 7k driving west on I - 70 in a bad head wind driving 70 mph for 3 hours all temps almost went red and oil pressure dropped and so did rpm. Everything is great not towing even with the bed full of rock. Help me please!!!
