We haven't so much as heard from James Murphy in 7 years since LCD dropped This Is Happening, and the VERY first words he has to offer the world are: "We all know this is nothing." A swift, immediate comment on the current political climate that all but concedes "I know it's been a while since last we talked, and a lot of s*** has gone down since then, but we can persevere through this." This track poises itself as a slow-building mammoth picking up momentum with every second, every new sonic sound added to its shape. James Murphy - and LCD Soundsystem, by extension - have always had a way about taking an innocuous song and injecting it with the pathos of the world's current mindset. They have always been on the pulse of understanding human emotion without having to make ham-fisted lyrical references. And in no time does the song spare an inch of itself to establish a staggering velocity with which to say: "We're here. We're back. Things suck. But we can make it." And with this track, LCD Soundsystem's return record has catapulted itself to the top of my anticipated albums for 2017.

Saw them at Coachella in 2004 (?) First tour. Tens of thousands of people at Coachella but me and 49 other people watching them at a side stage. They looked nervous and inexperienced. Then saw them a year later in Los Angeles in an Echo park club, already much more polished and 300 people. Finally saw them in San Francisco in 2006 and they were on fire, maybe 800 people... then I moved to Dubai and only chance to see them was the farewell movie which played at the Dubai Film festival. Great to see them back and rocking same as ever...

LCD Soundsystem, I love your music!!! This song has the musical flavor of the 1980s with the extraordinary lyrics of a universal story of oneness with humanity, and powerful vocals expressing timelessness in an empathetic rhythmic beat!!!! As a lover of music I actually heard this song before and I really loved it; yet, thanks to a repeat episode of SNL I have been gifted to hear it again with an abundance of enthusiasm!!!! Yes, I am a poet and this song reminds me that as human beings we keep forgetting that we are one and nothing less and nothing more. The ugliness throughout history has destroyed humanity leaving behind the painful and sorrowful impact of survivors. Survivors either pass on the visionary torch of guidance and strength toward a better life and future, or pass on the monstrous evil of an invisible violent torch of the destructive past and patterns from the origins of behavior from tortured souls. This moment today is our tiny opening in our humanity for each of us to remember our oneness with humanity and that humanity deserves to survive as long as we all accept our oneness. May we all promote love for the generations of today throughout this earth for the generations of the future. For love is a powerful strength of our oneness with humanity and it will survive through the ugliness of hate and hinder the perceived power from hate. The horrific history from the past and the present engulfing humankind from hate should never be ignored, hidden, removed, or minimized because these are teachable moments of the importance of our oneness with humanity. Hate is not a perceived power for anyone to have against any human being because it destroys all of humanity. Again, hate is a temporary power of evil falsehoods spreading diseases of destruction to humankind. God created each of us in love. We all are in this oneness of humanity to be powerful through love and love is light. Thank you, LCD Soundsystem ❤️

Daryl Mitchell dude, they've only released 2 LPs and you're saing this? A bit delusional?
@ellisbareuther64337 жыл бұрын
They have 3 LPs: Their self-titled, Sound of Silver, and This Is Happening. Also you could say that 45:33 is an album but it's technically an EP
@daryl75317 жыл бұрын
Davit beliashvili Firstly, I didn't state it as fact, I merely asked, which is why I ended it on multiple question marks. Secondly, I mean going off the two singles here, it's highly possible. But I did not claim it is the case YET as we must wait for the album for the final verdict that LCD Soundsystem actually are a band that improves upon every release (obviously). Its just an exciting time as a fan that it seems to be going this way. Lastly, they have THREE LP's, and considering their first album was 2015, I'd say time is a better indicator when judging an artist whos output consists of quality over quantity.
@nones1007 жыл бұрын
Radiohead is definitely one of those Artists for me not only do they get better but they have a new sound every album
@daryl75317 жыл бұрын
Nones Garcia Agreed about Radiohead! Consistent as hell. Kanye's discography is comparable to Radiohead's in that sense. Each album not only never sounds the same, but they transcend genre labels that become trend setters. And they simply don't know how to put out a weak album in the process. Kendrick Lamar is the most recent addition to that list IMO.
