It's ridiculous that players like Zeka, Scout, Crown, even Doinb, have world titles but Chovy doesn't. Even Peanut potentially deserves a title. It would be nice for Peyz to win it all in his first year as well. I'm not sure if GENG does it this year, if anything, last year was a bit of a disappointment considering expectations, so this year, I will be having no expectations, just hope. I hope that GENG learned from last year that they need to be on their toes for meta changes and I believe they will do right this time.

Most casters and analysts over at the LCK are honestly way too easily influenced by recency bias and big name stories. GenG chocked in the first Playoffs series against T1, but apart from that they looked super dominant, stepping up their game plan when it mattered in the finals and just gapping T1. What annoyed me most was them deeming HLE as better than KT after the first round. And T1 somehow fell for it almost being sent to the lower bracket right away.

@@aci.o6490 Rant incoming, I'd appreciate if you read the entirety of it and actually gave a legit answer. It feels like the casters are just too scared to throw out their honest opinion and instead pander to teams like T1 and KT or fan favorites like Viper. I vividly remember the last week of the regular season, where DK would face T1 and then GENG. I recall the casters saying how DK would beat GENG, they are in better form now simply because they came off a winning streak against lower-placed teams. DK still had to play T1, which would mean their streak would likely break, while GENG had faced T1 earlier and almost beat them, but the casters kept thinking that DK would beat GENG, and I remember myself sitting there thinking "how the hell is DK ever beating GENG. GENG beat DK in the first round quite easily, GENG had a great showing against T1 and the only blemish was their defeat by KDF which doesn't really matter anyway from a performance perspective". So, I'm there, the casters NEVER mention what happened in the first round GENG vs DK, the casters NEVER mentioned that DK's stats look good because they haven't faced T1 and GENG yet and ANY PERSON with brains and eyes could tell that GENG was the massive favorite between the two, yet recency bias is there that would lead the casters to believe that DK is the favorite for some weird reason. I also remember how, in the regular season, everyone said that T1 in untouchable. In a POG stage episode, the one before playoffs began, I remember vividly how all 4 casters, and especially the disgusting Wolf, would just say "it doesn't matter what happens in the double elimination bracket, because T1 wins it all anyway". How the hell is that credible analysis? T1 looked strong in the regular season, sure, but nobody ever mentioned that GENG almost beat them. They seemed to have forgotten it. They also seemed to have forgotten that HLE actually did beat them in the regular season as well, but either of those Bo3s apparently wasn't good enough for them to even entertain the idea as a joke that T1 might not win Spring. They just announced that T1 wins and they moved on. They overhyped T1 as unbeatable monsters, which was just laughable. T1 was the strongest team in the regular season, but teams like GENG or KT weren't even that far besides them. Even in the finals T1 vs GENG, some of them even had the audacity of thinking T1 would beat GENG 3-0, as if GENG is an afterthought. As if GENG didn't almost beat T1 in the regular season, or had a close series in the first Bo5 against T1. Even more infuriating is that they really thought for sure almost that KT would beat GENG in the semis, and I'm sitting there thinking "do these casters even watch the games they cast?" GENG had a shaky start in the split, as was expected, because of their new bot lane, but they kept becoming better. You could see how the entire team, and especially Chovy, would pick champions that were more supportive to play around Peyz so that Peyz can ease into more comfortably is the new spot of the LCK. Slowly but surely, the nerves went away, the synergy kept building, the marksman-support meta went away (thus T1 got a sizeable nerf), and sure enough, over the course of the regular season and even more so in the playoffs, you could see that GENG was actually the best performing team in the LCK. If we set aside some personal mistakes by players like Peanut, or Chovy, or Doran, which obviously wouldn't repeat in the finals, GENG could have beat T1 in their first Bo5 as well. But apparently, the casters do not watch the games they cast. They just... cast them. There is a big difference between casting / watching a game and actually analyzing it and trying to correctly determine the strength of teams. The casters just see T1 as the first place team, so "ugh T1 best", completely disregarding progress and growth from other teams. In the semifinals and the finals, I was extremely confident that GENG would beat KT and T1 respectively. From my analysis, I realized that if Peanut doesn't fall victim to some of his personal mistakes (which are easy to fix), GENG would always be even or ahead of gold and tempo to T1, because GENG has better preparation in drafts and game strategy, whereas T1 always kinda follows the same predictable gameplan, which is also kinda ego-drafting as well. I also knew that GENG would beat KT because GENG was just a better KT, despite KT beating GENG twice in the regular season. Honestly, I think the LCK (I don't care about other regions) needs more analysts that correctly analyze games and actually spend time on that, instead of having the casters do it. I don't wanna hear Wolf's analysis for example, because Wolf is clueless for the most part. The only real analyst out of the 4 is probably Chronicler and maybe Atlus. Valdes and Wolf are just too biased towards T1 to ever have honest and impartial opinions, and you can clearly see it in Wolf's voice after GENG beat T1. He sounded so sad and disappointed that GENG won. Thanks for your time.

Concerns over Zeus seemed to escalate this series... He had trouble during the post season all the way through to the Grand Finals. I think this does more good to T1 to have this kind of loss now, to help them maybe re-focus looking towards MSI and Summer Split (hopefully beyond). Congrats to GenG on a strong performance and Doran recovering from an otherwise disappointing first Bo5 to turn it around in this one.

Agreed. They got beat badly in Game 1 due to Gragas, Wukong and Ahri. I think they let their egos decide to let Gen G have the same champs again in Game 2. Also, they forgot they previously beat Gen G by dismantling their bot lane. In this series, they did nothing and let Gen G's bot lane cook. These inconsistencies and lack of prep lets me believe T1 underprepares because their pride thinks these are "easy" teams. They had a whole week to prepare while Gen G just came off a series against KT.

T1 was just overhyped. All these experts / analysts / pros / casters made T1 look stronger than they were. They are strong, but not as much as everyone would like you to think. GENG was just as strong, if not stronger and the only reason why GENG didn't have a better regular season is because they went through big roster changes. It wasn't a bad day from T1. Neither was it an overperformance by GENG. Both teams played exactly the way they were expected to, you just had false expectations because again everyone overhyped T1 and shit on GENG constantly. Big slap in the face for doubting and trolling Peanut and Chovy. Big wake up call to the delusional fans/experts/analysts to stop riding T1's D every single time.

I'm happy two times over, once as a GENG fan, but even more so for all the delusional T1 fans and the biased T1 casters who kept the same narrative of how T1 is untouchable. Even in the regular season where GENG almost beat T1, all of them said that T1 is unbeatable. Even in the POG state before playoffs, they said that playoffs do not matter because T1 will win in the end anyway. Even against KT, where KT almost beat T1, they said it was an unlucky underperformance. Even at the first Bo5 against GENG, where GENG showed up quite well but still lost, they said that T1 are by far the better team. Even today on the finals, everyone predicted T1 to win, some of them even with a 3-0. A big SUCK IT to all those "analysts" and "experts". I've been saying all split long that GENG can win spring despite some shaky performances. Delusional T1 fans would ridicule me for this because "T1 monster untouchable unbeatable". Somehow, Faker is the best mid laner in the LCK, despite Chovy having better numbers individually and as a team player. Suddenly, Peanut is Freenut. Gumayusi is somehow considered the best ADC in the LCK for some weird reason. Biased casters parroting their love for T1 as if their lives depend on it. Delusional T1 fans being obnoxious and hating on GENG fans and players, especially Chovy. Where are you now? Massive reality check for T1 loser dogs. Zeus is probably the biggest choker of all time, yet considered the best top laner. Faker is now the best second-best player of all time. Keria, who I like a lot by the way, is just a regular season player, sadly, and cannot perform at the highest of stages. Gumayusi is the Korean Doublelift, always talking trash and hyping himself because in the end, that's all he can do. Meanwhile, rookie Peyz got on the royal road, got finals MVP, dropped 14 kills on him in game 1. It just feels so much better for GENG to win this way, against all odds, against all "experts", against all "analysts", against all delusional T1 fans, against everyone. Summer 2022 was a great stomp but everyone could see it coming a mile away. This one is so much sweeter because more than half of the delusionals even expected a 3-0 for T1. SEETHE Trash1 DOGS.

People forget Gen G beat KT 3-1, and KT almost beat T1. I mentioned in the T1 vs KT series that T1 can get too cocky in Drafts; they kept giving KT the champs that they beat T1 with. In this series, Game 2, T1 banned Rakan (?) and gave Doran. Chovy and Peanut the same champs that crushed them in Game 1. Rakan was not the issue. T1 has good players and teamwork, but seriously their drafting continues to be an issue, not so much the picks but what they let their opponents get away with. It is almost that arrogance thinking "oh don't worry, we can beat them on the same champs". Their tactics are also telegraphed - in Game 2 Gen G (and every caster) knew T1 was going to do Baron. Seriously? They basically threw away a 2k gold lead and the game from there. They used the same timing last year already. It's like Summer 2022, I feel T1 really underprepares for opponents they beat before, thinking it will be an easy win. It showed vs Gen G then, and vs DRX at Worlds and now again in a Bo5 against Gen G.

@@hazelcress People forget Bo3 is not the same as Bo5. SKT used to win all Bo5s when they lose Bo3s. Recently, they win Bo3s but Bo5s Finals they do badly. Like I said, I feel the problem is T1 thinks if they beat an opponent that makes the opponent easy and they underprepare. They don't look at recent form. They picked KT over HLE, because HLE beat them in regular spilt. Then see how poorly HLE showed in playoffs.

No. T1 was just overhyped. All these experts / analysts / pros / casters made T1 look stronger than they were. They are strong, but not as much as everyone would like you to think. GENG was just as strong, if not stronger and the only reason why GENG didn't have a better regular season is because they went through big roster changes. It wasn't a bad day from T1. Neither was it an overperformance by GENG. Both teams played exactly the way they were expected to, you just had false expectations because again everyone overhyped T1 and shit on GENG constantly. Big slap in the face for doubting and trolling Peanut and Chovy. Big wake up call to the delusional fans/experts/analysts to stop riding T1's D every single time.
