LCS SK19 barrel removal and tune

In this video i am showing how to remove the barrel on the SK19 to be able and give it a proper clean . In the second part of the video i give a quick guide how to set the SK 19 to the velocity you want .

Getting the barrel just right to the magazine is incredibly important. Not only for top performance but efficiency. Gap to big the accuracy and efficiency is effected, while to close/tight, performance is effected. I really wish we could measure with a feeler gauge. Oh well. Love my .25 sending 34 grain FX pellets…all 19 rounds @ 905 fps inside a 2” circle at 100 yards or tighter. This platform is a hunters dream I swear! Awesome video bud thank you. BTW make sure your barrel clamp bolts are tightened down properly. Anti-sez grease helps make sure they don’t snap when removing in the future for you 500 round cleaning. Fast you push the ammo the more often you need to clean your barrel. Hope this helps. .22 cal has a LW barrel & .25 has a LW Polygonal barrel match grade. Wicked good barrels!

Thx for the tip about the grease, I mostly put some silicone lube on them but grease might work better . Indeed the barrel setting could have been designed a little better and eliminate the fiddling, every time you think you have it spot on it moves ever so slightly when doing up the bolds 🥴 and you have to start over

Sorry for the second comment but your accuracy will improve “IF” you push the pellet or slug all the way in with something like a wooden or plastic golf tee or even a tooth pick. The .25 cal demands this really. The .22 not as much but you WILL see a difference down range when your groups get smaller. Stay blessed and keep’em coming sir.

Thx , yes indeed I have seen a slight improvement in accuracy doing this 👍 but not always worth the hassle as I have more fun plinking with the LCS 😉

@@Airbuks I do pest control so accuracy really matters and if that’s where the shooter is that it will be a requirement or maximum accuracy. It is a great gun and super fun to shoot. Thank you for your reply. BTW the FX 34 grain pellets, feel like they are tighter in the magazine and in the bore, and do shoot better groups than the JSB MK twos.😊

Thanks for this video. This is one of my “gotta have” rifles. So versatile. Not just a spray and slay gun. I’ve see rabbits taken at over 400 yards with the SK 19. Lothar Walther makes great barrels.

I have one in 25 cal with the Pard 008 LFR NIGHT VISION. bought it thinking i would do some night hunting but never did. i would sell the whole set up including case and spare rechargeable battery for scope for $2300. the scope alone is $1000.

once again great video! i got a new moderator for mine today and i noticed when i unscrewed the old moderator and shroud the barrel was turning too i was able to unscrew the barrel without losening the two 4mm hex screws and it was difficult to remove the old moderator but after watching this video i think the screws are not tight and i will check them tommorow the new moderator is awesome though

Thx mate , those 2 screws to fix the barrel could be done differently. I am always afraid of snapping a bold when undoing them or tightening 🙈 hope this never happens 🤞🏻 Did you get the Donny adaptor to fit a different moderator?

I was on the fence for a .25 caliber pcp air rifle and it was between the SK19 and FX Maverick. I got the Maverick. It will be shipped next Friday. Got the ELEMENT HELIX 4-16x44 FFP and FX no limit ring scopes to go with it. I'm a single shot loader so I got a single shot loader for it too.

The Maverick is a awesome gun aswel 👍🏻 depending on what you want to do with the gun they are very different and have a completely different valving system . I own both and like both for there own reasons 😉👍🏻

Hey Marc , de Maverick is Idd een zeer goed machine 😉 maar in mijn opinie kan je beide niet vergelijken omdat ze een zeer verschillende actie hebben . Hammer loos ivm de traditional hammer veer en valve pin 😉

Great job!! love your videos!! My sk19 has a loose fitting at the connection where the bottle meets the manometer--that block/mechanism is loose and the gun has a leak ( i assume because of the connection) Any ideas?

Thx , have you checked the orings inside the bottle valve . It’s a tricky one to see , if you unscrew your bottle and look into the valve of the bottle there is a oring at the bottom, if this one is damaged you might have a leak there . If the leak occurs from the adapter then that is your next spot to investigate. But I haven’t disassemble the SK19 yet so I don’t know how it’s assembled

another thing to note is that "block" can pivot up to 10 degrees each way and that is supposed to be normal.

Hi , I will be making a range video with the SK19 yes but I don’t do comparisons between guns and specially not when they are from different manufacturers 😬 The 2 you mentioned are also not a comparison in my opinion because they have a very different valving and firing style as the SK19 shoots straight out of the mag . People will always pick one above the other and will think the other one is less good . I make several separate videos and people can compare between them that way 😉

Do the set screws make a slight divot on the barrel that would be visible if you looked in the screw holes for re-installation and or could you mark them with a sharpie prior to removal? Also wondering if it would it be beneficial to mark the barrel prior to removing for reinstallation?

Hi , the set screw do toch the barrel the tighten a clamp to hold the barrel . Marking it in front isn’t a option ether as the setting is so minute that it won’t be accurate enough 🤷‍♂️

@@Airbuks but wouldn't you be factory set if you co witness the barrel and frame with a sharpie out for the box? The seating of the barrel to the magazine has to be perfect?

@@Giovanni-zc1lv yes there for you have to do it by hand / touch a sharpie isn’t accurate enough for me , but it can give you a very good baseline. If you want to go that way I would consider a permanent mark ( scratch ) that is finer and wil not fade like a sharpie

It depends when you bought the gun , since end 2021 LCS has implemented a standard AR15 grip , before that it was a special not so know grip

I once had a rifle that had a feature that blocked cleaning the gun. Had to remove the barrel to clean it. Pain In The Ass. That is definitely not a gun anyone should buy.

I understand what you mean , but I wouldn’t compare both , I own both and they are very different rifles for many reasons. I also remove my barrel of the M3 even take the liner out to clean it 🤷‍♂️
