Great video did the cover leak

Hi Shane. Apologies for the delayed response. The only place I found the cover leaked (a tiny amount) was around the 'Roll Bars' as it's not 100% watertight. The cover simply squeezes tight up to the 'Roll Bars' where they attach to the tub - so in heavy rain some water gets through. Other than that, all good. Cheers.

...I also placed adhesive foam between tub and tonneau brackets to prevent corrosion or paint damage.

A much easy and neat way of deburring any drilled holes {if you don't like using a file and scratch the surface} Drill the hole for the pop rivet..then use a bigger drill to clean up the burr.. don't press to hard just enough to clean to top of the hole...You can do that on both sides!

Just found your install video. I have Pro and bought the same cover. I added the sports bar so I made sure to purchase the correct tonneau. The only difference being that I will be removing my tub liner (2021 Pro the tub liner sits below the tray rail) and spraying with raptor liner and then installing the cover. Not sure if anyone else has done this and can comment on any difference between this install type versus what is similar to the above video?

@@stephenmoore8960 You can redo them easily enough. Drill out the rivets and slap a coat of the good stuff on. Rivets cost nothing and you might be able to replace them with stainless or marine grade. Good luck.

Does the tub liner go in first before the tonneau cover ?

Hi rikiellia, the tub liner had already been installed when we purchased the vehicle. We installed the tonneau cover on top of the tub liner. Cheers, Steve.

Hey Stephen, as I sit and re-watch your video (I am hiding under the car port out of the wet) in preparation to fit the tonneau cover, you called out your concern about the aluminimum/steel corrosion issue, and so I did some digging. Turns out your concern is valid, the process is called ‘galvanic corrosion’ (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion) and does occur between steel and aluminium. From my reading on the topic, and let me be clear, I am definitely no expert, but it sounds like the aluminium would be the material to experience accelerated corrosion as a result of being in contact with the steel, and so if there was a failure, it sounds like the aluminium rivets would be the failing component. That said, for the reaction to take place, there needs to be an ‘electrolyte’ which facilitates an electrical current to flow. For a truck like this, the obvious electrolyte would be salty water, salt spray from the beach, etc. So my take away from this is that I wash the truck after any beach trips or coastal drives, which I would do anyway, I think we should be good. And if something did fail, its likely to be the rivets, at which point, I could drill out and replace the rivets as needed. Again, I am no expert, but I think we might in the clear on this one ;-)

My main man Roger, many thanks for your sleuthing sir. What's most reassuring is the need for an electrolyte for a reaction to occur. I say this because my parents installed a pergola with aluminum posts. These posts are attached to a thin steel frame with aluminum rivets. After 15 years we can see the steel frame is slightly rusting where the aluminum posts come in contact. They live about 800 meters (as the crow flies) from the sea - so plenty of salty electrolytic air. We reckon the pergola's got at least another 15 years in her. You're spot on - we're in the clear if we clean the T60 occassionally. If not, i'm sure we'll get at least 30 odd years out of her. Cheers mate.

Alluminium rivets should be fine with normal steel. Stainless steel on the other hand will react with alluminium. So they should be fine.

Howzit Wickedlee. Mate, those roller shutters look the business. Sleek and slick looking. Was sooo close to pulling the trigger on a Trailrider 2 that came with the roller cover, but went with the megatub for the extra storage. What me n the misses like about the tonneau is it's flexible. We're down at the block this weekend and have shoved everything, including the kitchen sink in the back. The cover streches over the bumpy bits. Not too good on the security factor though, not lockable which kinda sucks.
