I don't know why people are surprised. Usually the 3rd or 4th album artist change style to challenge their versatility and fanbase. Every artist does it..,you can't keep singing the same songs/style or you don't grow as an artist. While I'm not a huge fan of her recent material, I understand it. Reading these posts stresses me out. Just because she does not flat-out say Jesus in the song does not mean it's not a gospel song. And no- she is not squalling on this or "Bigger Than Me".... Because she is smart. If you give the same thing all the time, you won't be able to expand as an artist. A lot of people don't hear the typical, overdone gospel sound and count this out, but it's a truly powerful song. Expand your horizons church folk. That's what she is trying to get you all to do.
