what a performance!!!! only the masters could do what he does... Dr. Laudenback is my son's - Juan Jesus Jr.- teacher, a true roll model for my son... excellent job Dr. Daniel, keep it up...

@Davgioia, First, it’s worth mentioning that I injured my right hand about 3 years prior to this performance. Because of that, I had the tension of the springs on both of my saxophones lightened as much as possible and still be able to function. Second, as with anything technical, almost every day I worked on it, I started slow and built up the tempo gradually. This also helps with endurance. Also, while working slowly, make sure your fingers stay as close to the pearls as possible. Good luck.

That's what I had to do. Bravo Daniel! The Bees is one of the hardest pieces to play on Clarinet & obe!

I never though its possible to be played, and you made it! Im stunned! Bravoooo So, i believe you worked very very hard to do it, and after the training your body to make the circular breath and your hands, your psicological to dont be nervous. And after all you also needed a very very good instrument with all the regulations and tunning adjusted! Wow this was a hard work! For me you deserve a guiness book record!

Dr. L, you really are fantastic! I'm so mad that I didn't attend that 2009 Band/Orch camp at Tx Tech, but what can one do? (So glad you're my orchestra director, though) Look, there's a kitty!!! :)

@dannyback42 you did such a great job! i've been able to circular breathe on saxophone since my undergrad (UIUC) but even after getting my masters in oboe (UNCG) i'm still unable to really circular breathe well on the instrument... bummer! I decided to make summer my "lets finish it" project. Maybe i'll play as well as you? i hope! :) again, very well done!!!!

I still practice this piece on soprano....pretty hard for my fingers....

Hey I'm trying to learn this piece at the moment on soprano saxophone and it can be pretty rough on your fingers/arms to practise, what was your technique for practising this without killing yourself?
@joethemusician14 жыл бұрын
Did you transpose the oboe part up? I'm working on this (on oboe) and the circular breathing is killing me... I might just have to switch this over to saxophone ;) well done

I've made up my mind to purchase a soprano and learn it on there. I'm giving myself about 3-5 months.

@joethemusician Thanks. I didn't transpose it. Kenneth Tse did. I believe he left it in the original key. Good luck. This is rough on any instrument.
