@dlfendel28442 жыл бұрын
I get that there's a big asian population in Canada, particularly on the West Coast where a LOT of people from, for one example, Hong Kong came after the ChiComs took over, but it seems to me that at EPCOT it should be a menu of "traditional" Canadian fare, and the addition of the "impossible" non-meat takes it further afield.

@SciFi22852 жыл бұрын
@@dlfendel2844 Most Canadians would shrug and admit that what is considered traditional in Victoria might not be so traditional in Quebec City, Halifax, or Kitchener. Canada has never subscribed to the notion of being a melting-pot. It is more of a buffet. And what a glorious buffet it is. I have always found the dining scene in Canadian cities to be eclectic, innovative, and extremely varied.

We haven't eaten at Le Cellier in years because we found the food so-so and expensive. May have to try it again. now that you are raving about it. I do, however, LOVE, the cheddar cheese soup and always have it at the Food & Wine Festival no matter how warm it is.

Pete (Panda and Jackie too), thanks for doing Le Cellier. It's been quite a while since I've eaten there. And not to date myself, but that was one of my FAVORITE restaurants to go on the dining plan. Which brings me to my question : Any idea if/when they will bring that back? Yes, yes, it's not a great deal unless you WORK at it. But that was why Le Cellier was always a favorite - I felt I was getting my dining plan money's worth. Thanks as always for the great content!

Jackie: I am guessing that the sour note you detected in the French Onion Soup was apple cider vinegar. It is a fairly common ingredient to add to FOS, but if overdone, it ruins the batch.

Wow! Over $200 for lunch for three people??? That would feed my family of four for a day! In spite of my love of brussels sprouts, Le Cellier is an easy pass for me at that price.
@RLucas30002 жыл бұрын
It also depends what you order, they got two incredibly pricey steaks (for lunch). Checking the menu, if each of the 3 had gotten the cheddar soup (3 x $13), the beuf bourguignon poutine (3 x $15), and sides of the maple whiskey Brussel sprouts and the Gorgonzola creamed spinach ($10 each) to share, the three would have had as filling a meal as you would ever want lunch in a theme park to be (don’t forget the yummy bread bowl provided!) for $104. Not the cheapest meal, but it sounds delicious, and a lot less than $220! (Your family of 4 would come in around $132)
