ストーリーがかなり難解に感じたけれど、最後まで目が話せなかった。全く勧善懲悪ではない。登場人物の生き様も良かった。自分にとっては衝撃作。暗いし憂いとかやりきれない雰囲気は人を選ぶだろうけど、名作。

I was glad that I watched this deep anime. I was even happier that Le chevalier d'Eon was actually based from a true story. It's got an intricate mix of history and fantasy. The twists were PHENOMENAL!

Man, I was really young when this first aired on Animax. I think I was about 11 or 12. I always found this boring andd never watched it but I absolutely loved the ending even back then. I rewatched it a few days ago and this just fits of preferences in entertainment in ever manner.

yes...d'eon is possessed by Lia in the last ep. but then after he takes her body and burns it so that her soul can rest in peace, d'eon himself does become a girl. The real chevalier d'eon in french history (whom this d'eon is modeled after) also lived half his life as a man and the second half as a woman. so based upon that, d'eon (in the anime) lives the second half of his life as a woman.

what was the song in the beginning? I seriously loved this anime and this song was able to show such deep emotions. It fit the anime well. I also find it interesting how they combined French history and D'eons life into one to make this complex and incredible anime.

Deon's life WAS part of french history. And i personally don't think that this music fit the setting at ALL. Maybe emotionally, but as far as historical acuracy goes, i would have prefered to hear something mor classical sounding.
