Le Creuset mystery box unboxing -- Minneapolis, Sept. 21, 2023

Yes, it's a mystery box of Le Creuset merchandise, purchased at a special sale in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I made this video in part to poke fun of the obsession with "unboxing" for views. But I realize there is some interest in this sort of thing from the LC crowd. We do not have any channels or social media accounts portraying us an influencers. We were not compensated or compelled to promote the LC mystery box. We won't be unboxing "hauls" on a recurring basis, and maybe never again. There was no endorsement of any kind tied to this unboxing. Enjoy it for what it is worth, and if you get a chance to take advantage of a LC sale in your area, make sure you go on the VIP day when they sell the mystery boxes. You should be highly satisfied.

She did, and we used it once already. And I do know what the ballpark value is. My purpose in making an "unboxing" video was to make fun of the over production and dramatization some "influencers" peddle when they make such videos. I get the interest in seeing what people get from boxes like these. Very understandable. It's the big production and the drawn out unveiling that leaves me shaking my head. But there's an audience for it at 25 minutes or more, evidently, so go for it, I guess. Some of my video choice wouldn't be worth 10 minutes of other people's time, certainly. My video is meant to be a bit of a farce, more than anything. I'm not in the unboxing business, and I'm not going to be "starting a channel" any time soon. All that said, while a new piece like our retails for $500, nobody is paying us $500 for it brand new. Buying retail, you have a paper trail and a retailer that'd accommodate you on the off chance of a defect, of course. Not sure how much of a discount we'd have to give to sell it locally, but it's not a concern, as it's now part of our collection. And winter is coming here in Minnesota, I suspect we'll get plenty of use out of our pieces this winter. Thanks for watching!

The enthusiasm for its contents was genuine, as you can probably tell, and I was genuinely impressed. But it was fun to mock the played out unboxing video obsession. This guy knows how much these things cost, more of less. Does he understand it? Not so much. But I know the difference in price between our cheap frying pans and the high quality ones that we spent more money on. I imagine I could find cheaper Dutch ovens on the market then those made by LC. And I'm sure I could tell the difference, based upon the end result. Glad you enjoyed my humor. The Dutch oven we already had prior to yesterday was a Black Friday special, and I know how much we paid for that. So it wouldn't surprise me to see the retail price on the giant piece we received with the lid (is it considered a Dutch oven, or does it have a special name) is around $500. I didn't exactly rehearse my role, and I wish my one-liners would have been delivered with a little more zing, but I'm glad I provided some entertainment. My life partner is still in awe of what she received in that mystery box, and quite candidly, so am I. I'm not sure whose expectations were lower.

@VegasInsight the video was hysterical. I do get your humor. It's exactly like my husband's and his whole family. The mystery boxes were pretty awesome. I went and got one too. I dragged my husband in so he could get a box as well so I could have two. He sat at the back of the whole time sending snap chats to his friends pretending to be miserable and not understanding any of it. While at the same time encouraging me to take my time. He even pointed something out I missed, then quickly did everything he could to not take any credit for finding it. 😆

Congrats!! You did amazing with your mystery box!! That roasting pan sells for $305. Not sure how big your oval dutch oven is, but if it is a 9.5 qt that sells for $525. A 10.5 inch skillet is $225. You got well over an $1100 box for $75!! My one box was worth over $1000 but my husband's was about $400, only 1 cast iron piece, a giant oval skillet. A few other items as well. Enjoy your pieces.

We did rough estimates of the pieces we received and also concluded that the retail prices added up to a little over $1,000. We didn't plan on getting two boxes, hence the purchase of one ticket. Glad to hear one of your boxes was a jackpot like ours. $400 worth or merch is nothing to sneeze at, but my life partner showed me a few videos of boxes others have received prior to Minneapolis, and we definitely received more useful, beneficial items than others received... unless you drink a lot of tea, I suppose. I filmed this on a lark, as a bit of a parody of the glut of unboxing videos on KZbin. After I did, I realized there would be genuine interest in the results, despite my mocking of the whole thing. Your shopping at the wrong stores. I bought that Dutch oven for $180 and the toaster for $160. I have 4 dutch ovens and didn't pay more than $ 200 for any one of them. Just gotta know where to look

There's nothing to get over. I am not a comedy writer, but the video is intended to be humorous and sarcastic... mocking the unboxing video that "influencers" churn out over and over. I'd have been better off had I scripted a few lines days before we purchased and opened this box, no doubt. That said, I was very happy for my partner and the great deals she got. Thanks for the appraisals, but they don't matter much at the end of the week. We'll be putting both to use in the future, regardless of what they may sell for online, or what percent of that price point we could get for selling them as new, no box items in the secondhand market. Let's assume we throw the plates and bowl away. We got each of the remaining three items, all of which we'll use, for $25 each. That's all that really matters, but it's fun to dream and think we got $1K worth of merch. And if it's only worth $400 total, it was still $25/item for us. We were very fortunate, no matter how you appraise it. Thanks for watching.
