@@davintran4674​​⁠in a scale there are 7 notes, and musicians number the note relative to its position from the root. so let’s say in an A Major scale you play the note A, that would be the root note of the A Major scale, play the note B that’s the 2nd, play the note C# that’s the 3rd, etc. So usually a bass player plays the root of the scale/chord, and that’s actually what is happening here, Perfect Night is in F Major and the note that the bass is playing is F, which is the root. I had misheard and thought he was playing the 3rd of the scale cuz there’s something about that note that jumped out me, but I think it’s just the sound of the 808 and the fact the note stays stagnant and doesn’t follow the chords. Hopefully this explanation makes sense!
