A true goddess! Maybe the best version of Still Hurting. There's another clip of Lea rehearsing this and she does it better in rehearsal than most do it in actual performance. We saw her in the the filmed presentation of Allegiance and Lea, after all these years of performing has lost nothing off her vocal fastball. She can still bring it as well as anyone.

Uh ...no, she's very much a mezzo. A lyric soprano's voice would get stronger as it ascends, not thinner. Her blend is the best I've ever heard: like you cannot tell when she switches between chest and head because it's all blend. I saw her in 1991 and even at like 21, she could command a stage with her voice and her presence and carry a show. She's an absolute gift to the Broadway community. 🙏🏻

So I have a bizarrely random idea for a fancast for The Last Five Years, but I actually think it would work really well. Lea Salonga as Cathy and, hear me out………Jason Alexander as Jamie. I know he's a bit old for the role, but he's a phenomenal singer and when I first saw this play, I always thought a young Jason would be absolutely perfect for the show. Don't deny that he would be great (and obviously I don't need to convince anyone of Lea's amazingness). I just think that if they ever did something akin to a concert show, they should hire these two.
