So let me get this straight, you break the combine. They bring you a replacement. Take your old one away to be fixed. The gas guy is nearby and fills the trailer. Ethan brings fuel for the pump. And, someone brings you food. AND, you get the beans in. Unbelievable teamwork, impeccable machine service. You're the man.

Deal with the disappointment, pick yourself up, learn, and continue on with new energy and determination. You're awesome! Thanks for the video and documenting both the victories and struggles of the day. We appreciate it and appreciate you.

What stopped the straw chopper from turning and broke the belt? Did a rock, tree limb or piece of metal jam it. The way the belt or belts broke in the same spot says to be it stopped suddenly and horsepower snapped belts. It could have weakened or beni the shaft and it broke. High horsepower and torque will bust stuff up in a heartbeat. Good luck!

Wow, first time watcher here, and new subscriber! I can’t believe your energy and how you communicate with the viewers. I find myself watching to see what’s going to happen next. I’m a farmer too but no where near as interesting to watch as what you are. I’ve got a smaller and older 7120 and my chopper shaft spun a bearing and wore quite a rut on the shaft. Had a guy build it up and turn it down smooth. No where near the strain on that shaft as what would be on the 8250 though.

What's Case have to say about all the problems? Did the replacement machine have much fuel when they dropped it off. Do you think the new machine is bad design, why some many problems being new. I feel for you. What warranty do you have, I hope it's covers everything. 😢 You hold up well under pressure Wishing you good luck 👍

It dos not matter how much you spend on something today , but you would expect a major part like that pulley to hold up and do what it was designed for and combine for many hours. It’s not like it’s running 24/7. The machine sits ideal for 3/4 of the year. At least you have a service to get you a replacement but I’m sure it costs a lot. Always admired how you deal with the adversity of these situations

If it were a Claas Lexion there would be nothing, not one spec of anything but soybeans in the tank. It's easy to get that as well. Try night shade some time with a lexion and be amazed that you don't break the berries and don't gum up your machine either. In fact, you don't even know unless you noticed that you ran through a patch of night shade.

A bad belt, a blown hose, that's acceptable maintenance. You've had two major teardown failures in the space of two weeks. That's a serious black eye for Case. I'd be fit to be tied. That's a level of investment i can hardly comprehend as it is.

Bought a new 2012 john deere s690 with forty foot header and 16 row corn head started with Wheat but it broke down every day while our old 9860 john deere never missed a day then after a lot of work we thought it would shell corn but it wouldn't harvest corn the 16 row corn header had 8 row gear boxes so it wouldn't harvest without choking down , we had a 1000 year drought and our 2500 hundred acres of corn only averaged 52 bushels per acre and the new combine kept breaking down every till the john deere mechanics refused to fix it , in 26 days of corn harvest our 9860 had to shell nearly everyday, we sued John Deere to have the combine replaced and read the computer that tracked every time the combine header or throat was reversed and we left 1100 piles of corn in the fields over 2500. Hundred acres , but John Deere refused to replace the combine. The judge ruled that equipment over 40000 thousand lbs had only a said warranty so kept the combine and ate the loses , don't ever trust the big companies they have enough money to hire whatever lawyers it takes

Cole the Cornstar and his family also had a lot of trouble out of their slightly used/new to them red combine last year. After a lot of work, they finally have it all ironed out and is now reliable. Even their brand new never used before green loaner/demo machine broke down right away. So it doesn't matter what the makes are as they all break (as you well know). It is annoying and aggravating to have failures with such brand new equipment! I hope that there is a warranty with this new machine? It was bad enough for you last year with the ole Miller sprayer (very expensive) engine failure.

Casted parts - made up of different alloys. Have me wondering about dependability. Back in the solid steel parts days, (yes parts were heavy), see more twisting before breakage. (You seem to have some warning of - *possible* -pending / future failure. Wish I knew more about the longevity of solid titanium, other materials for heavy machines., (prices of machines may go way up, if adding precious materials, in a few areas).

I am wondering how that pulley could break in soybeans because it is the slow speed pulley used for corn and it runs free in soybeans, so all the power should run through the little pulley.

@@Steiger19 It is the same shaft but the bean pulley is the small one because it is the driven pulley so it runs faster for chopping.
