digging through giant piles of 78 rpm records brought me here. Add to it a higher education I've gotten after doing it for many years... I am grateful and humbled by the message in this song. If people knew these words back in Leadbelly's day, why haven't we stupid humans learned this simple lesson yet?

Bhupen da rightfully (although, wrongly) attributed this song to Paul Robeson. He might have learnt the song from Robeson and therefore thought it was his song. He did not claim the song to be his own. Mind it.
