"I got married for the wrong reasons, then I turned around and got divorced for the wrong reasons. I thought I was following my heart. That was before I gave my life to the Lord. I was only concerned about my rights, my needs. Man I ruined her life" This hits close to home, not only because I've had so many people do this to me but my older sister and her ex husband both did this to each other. They got married for themselves, not for each other (btw I haven't gotten married. Other boyfriends have done this to me)

I was divorced twice before my wife. My wife is a phenomenal woman in so many ways. It would have to take numerous volumes of books to describe in full detail how phenomenal she is. Divorce is an extremely hard thing to go through especially when there are children involved. But when you overcome that obstacle, God will bless with a phenomenal spouse. All you have to do is fully surrender to God, and have faith in Him. He knows your heart.

What does that mean? Lead your heart?
@MatthewCraig07065 жыл бұрын
What this means is that our hearts can deceive us by telling us that we are entitled to take or do whatever we want in any moment. But sometimes...oftentimes in fact...the things our hearts desire lead us to disaster. That my friend is why we need the Lord to empower us to lead our hearts to Himself and not just follow whatever desires in this earth take us away from Him. God Himself is the greatest treasure worth desiring because He is the only treasure that will last forever.

Anna Gonx What is it you dont understand? I'll try to explain. If you were talking about the leading your heart part.. Everybody in this world says follow your heart, but bible says your emotions can be deceiving. If you let your "heart" lead you, you will probably be unstable and make wrong decisions for the wrong reasons. If you make a decision to do it Gods way and obey His word, it may not always be what your emotions tell you. But in the end it will work out for the best. So thats what he meant with dont follow your heart, lead your heart. If you make decisions with your mind, your emotions will follow.

As a human being, we make mistakes everyday. So if we we're to follow our own heart, it leads to disaster no matter what whether it is good for several weeks or years but without God, you don't feel encourage to become better everyday with motivation, and learn to love your husband while becoming a good wife. With God, the scripture gives good encouragement to guide us a path of righteousness and goodness despite our own heart wanting to lead a different path by choice, sometime our heart mislead us. That's why some of us Christians read the devotion and attend church so we can be encourage every day to learn the new pathway. The best and short encouragement I can give you.

Has anyone stopped to point out that the character Michael is living in Adultery as his first wife is still alive and he has remarried?? Luke 16:18, Mark 10-9, 1 Corinthians 7: 10-11,
@djnary28964 жыл бұрын
True enough. However...NO ONE is capable of following God's law to the letter. If we were, we wouldn't need a savior. (Michael probably knows that, having tried to get back with his ex, but it was too late.) We ALL fall short in some way.
@philarevolutionarywarriorp82954 жыл бұрын
@@djnary2896 yes we do. But Repentance isnt just saying we're sorry. It's TURNING FROM/STOPPING the sins we regularly commit (Proverbs 28:13, Luke 13:3) God will forgive All who REPENT but those who dont are not forgiven. Dont be misled. The character Michael by remarrying while his Covenant spouse was still alive is living in a Constant State of Adultery. Now read 1 Corinthians 6:9. These Truths cannot be any clearer. It was incredibly Irresponsible of the makers of the film to promote this false doctrine giving ppl the impression one can remarry after divorce. Luke 16:18, Mark 10:7-12, Romans 7:1-3 are all Completely clear on this subject. Please read scripture
@djnary28964 жыл бұрын
@@philarevolutionarywarriorp8295 Okay, so..... Michael should divorce his second wife and try to get back with his ex??? (Which will be hard given that she herself has remarried.) I get what you're saying. My point is that it isn't just that we turn from God's word just because our hearts are hard and spiteful towards Him; we CAN'T...no matter how hard we try! Our own sinful flesh and the world are too overwhelming. I'm not saying we should give up and not bother with Repentance. I'm saying that it will never be achieved by our own efforts, which is WHY we need Jesus. Without Him, we have NO HOPE! Period! Do you not believe that Michael is Repentant? I think he is.
@philarevolutionarywarriorp82954 жыл бұрын
@@djnary2896 He cant be repentant if he's living in an adulterous AFFAIR (which is what his relationship is-not a second marriage) there can be no "2nd marriage" while the original Covenant spouse is still alive. I'm sorry you don't like the facts but they're God's Holy, inerrant Word. (Romans 7:1-3, Luke 16:18, Mark 10:7-12) whether you humble yourself and accept God's Truth on the matter is up to you.
@djnary28964 жыл бұрын
@@philarevolutionarywarriorp8295 You still didn't answer my question. Forget this Michael character for a second and let's talk about someone real... Me. I am divorced. It ended very badly. Like Michael, I got married for the wrong reasons and turned around and got divorced for the wrong reasons. We had no children together. She was my first- and so far only- wife, but I was her 3rd husband and I was stepfather to her two children, whose father (her 2nd husband) is still alive. It ended because I got fed up and had an affair (I say this in front of you, God and everyone else at the submission of God's judgment and the risk of YOUR judgment.) In spite of that, she still wanted to stay together but I didn't. Question: Am I supposed to go back to my wife? Was my marriage valid to begin with? Do I have a right to remarry even if I repent? How do I live the rest of my life knowing this? Since you seem to be without sin yourself and have never done anything to hurt anyone in your life, you tell me... How do I live in light of God's Word?

luke 16:18. 1corinthians 6:9. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Remarriage while your first spouse is still alive is ADULTERY. adultery leads to hell. do not be fooled by this clip, his friend "Michael" in the movie is in an adulterous marriage with his new wife. For him to be right with God, he would need to REPENT of that adulterous remarriage and either remain single or be reconciled to his first wife. 1 corinthians 7:11 This is the Law of God and teachings of Jesus in the gospels.
@djnary28966 жыл бұрын
Part of the reason we were given God's law in the Bible was so that we would realize we are completely incapable of obeying it. Michael didn't give his life to Christ until later on and is doing his best, but also KNOWS that he CANNOT achieve his salvation alone. He NEEDS the Holy Spirit in his heart. We would ALL be headed straight for Hell without Him!

@@exogendesign4582 As long as one still draws breath, never too late to become saved by believing(more than just acknowledging his existence)on Jesus Christ and what he did on the Cross for their sins. And when someone is saved by believing, God will give that person a new nature that wants to do good and not sin. But until a saved person is finally in Heaven, the new God given nature and the old sinful nature are gonna be clashing. And while a person during the New World Order/7 year tribulation can become saved, right now is smoother. The AntiChrist isn’t gonna give any Atheist a chance on being an Atheist like that since he demands worship from everybody. Though the last thing a person should do during the New World Order/7 year tribulation is take the Mark of the Beast. Which is 666. Will be on the right hand or forehead.
