We are prepping for a study on church leadership. This was a great excerpt to pop up on my feed today. Love the John Newton quote, that really sums up a lot of what is important about the relationship between the congregation and the elders.

Let us pray for our church leaders!!! That the Lord's people may be well nurtured in truth. Where are you planted? By the riverside? Does a babby need milk to grow? How often do they feed? Do you feed on the scriptures? How often? Remember, without Holiness no one shall see the Lord. Do you desire with all your heart and soul to see the Lord? Are you thirsty for the word of God? Can you go a day without prayer? After you get home from work, do you run to your closet to be alone with your Beloved? Do you know that he waits to here from you? He says in Song of Solomon, "Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me. Show me your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely." Can you say to Christ, " I am yours and you are mine"? These are some of the few ways you can take your spiritual tempature. How is your relationship with your Lord? Examine yourself!!!
