The fact that SouMu sends GFRIEND to Killing Voice before Le Sserafim is probably all you need to know how lucky SouMu were to get these kinds of vocals without providing SM training (or water idk). From a purely capitalistic standpoint, sure you can say Le Sserafim has more international branding power, but that's about it. If you look at Fearless choreo, it has GFRIEND's DNA written all over it. Now that they diverged and found their own place, I hope SouMu what an empty shell it is without a legacy or talent. Everytime I see SNSD, Red Velvet, and æspa interactions, I kept thinking what GFRIEND, Le Sserafim, and SouMu's 5th gen gg could've been. Going back to SouMu is like making a deal with the devil, but I'm gonna unequivocally support Sowon's effort to get that full custody back. She hasn't burnt the bridge, so I'm not gonna to until she does. Now get our girls to awards shows to show off what kind of zero-backtrack, high-note, world-class encore stages SouMu has... while being fun and unserious ofc. Let them tour the world and pay them royalty to perform discography from VIVIZ, Yuju, and Yerin. These girls had sold out tickets from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, to the US of f******* A without HYBE daddy money. Get them some Daesangs cause let's face it, Le Sserafim might get VMA but ain't no way they're gonna take Daesang from IVE. Don't f*** up this time, SouMu. If HYBE keeps pushing for profitability, remind them how that ends up for NewJeans. I'm looking forward to GFRIEND's 11th, 12th, 13th and so on until 0116th anniversary. I get your sentiments, but trademark and copyright laws aren't that simple. Even if the SK justice system blesses the girls will all the branding (which isn't impossible considering they denied SouMu request for renewal a while ago), you need someone with the influence of Taylor Swift to track down every copyright holder and convince them give their blessings as well. Even Taylor Swift had to re-record all of them, and she wrote or co-wrote every track she performed. Regardless who's OT6 under, they need SouMu's blessing to make this a reality. It's not fair, I know. At the end of the day, any large corporation is required to maximise investors' returns. It was just that HYBE prioritised short-term gains over long-term legacy like SM or JYP. Aside from BTS, which is pretty shaky all things considered, HYBE has zero legacy to speak of. I thought NewJeans would be their start, but now it's obviously not. I hope they learnt that a group can fail despite being the top earner for a year or two. Unfortunately for us, the only signal that matters to their investors is profitability. Which means us pouring as much money as we can, knowing that our girls won't see much of it. That's how we can keep the GFRIEND legacy alive in the future beyond 4th and 5th gen. It's a lose-lose situation.
