I just bought Arma 3 and I'm hooked. My first play, me and my buddies hopped into a pilot's little bird and got QUICKLY dropped under A LOT of AA fire, and proceeded to fight into a town, which took like 30 minutes. It was NUTS. Such an insanely good game

@тхе иксцкл milsim implies military simulation. as someone who’s served, this is pretty accurate and thus a good simulation of a military operation. lots of waiting, lots of intel. short bursts of action, rinse wash repeat until the op is complete. lots of asking for permission to engage, to gather intel, informing team leaders of every movement, contact, and constantly informing them of casualties and supplies. some people do enjoy this, the time and strategy it takes complete these large ops.

suburbanraps: Not only that but Arma 3 literally gives you the options & opportunity to built missions in your own way. Most of the missions I built are straight up gun blazing until one side is completely decimated lol. That in itself still take strategy but still heavy action pack oriented. Needless to say, Arma 3 is a blast!

Remember doing a bunch of ops with my gaming group in Arma3, do miss those days and wouldn’t mind getting back into it. Was with ODA-951, we did a lot of training and many joint ops with other groups, it was fun times.

Arma3 is definately a really fun game to play, to me it's the community and people that you are surrounded with that keeps you going. I stopped at around 100 hours for a while but once I found a unit I enjoyed, I believe I hit 600 hours recently. I know people in my unit that have 3000+ hours. Just gotta look for the right people.

Mods will download automatically when u wanna join a modded Server via the Launcher. DLCs are mostly not needed, u just can't use the content ingame. But they use mod content most of the time.

Possible idea IF server can handle it. have a Co-Zues responsible for creating and deleting dynamic battles of AI vs AI (Blufor v Redfor) for ambience, that way you can still have your 2 platoons worth of men but when both out of contact, there still a feeling of still being in a warzone.

Sadly, friend you do not know what you are talking about, this is just a game.....miles away from reality. Here you die and tomorrow you play again. In real life, you are not afforded that lux. In real life (and here I speak from personal experience). Let me picture you are a real-life example: you are faced by a young Hutti boy (about 12 years old) in Burundi in civilian clothes carrying an AK 47 and mocking you, you have split seconds to make a decision - withdraw to safety and spare his life or take his life when the threat assessment deems it necessary (in split seconds applying the rules of engagement and rules of war for a UN peacekeeping op - which by the way is different from that for a law enforcement op or conventional war situation). Just that decision to make is a whole different level of responsibility and accountability. And here is the real sad part; this young boy (Huti) was captured as a youngster, taught to hate his own people (Hutti), and now fights with the Tutsi (against his own people). That is the sad reality of real Military Ops and conflict. The acts you take and the decisions you make may haunt you for life. People don't get PDSD from playing games, but real-life Mil ops - that is a different story. Show respect for real military officers and leadership. After all, they help to keep you safe so that you can play your mil-sim game in the comfort of your own home! But. I do love this game (Arma 3 and in particular mil-sim) and it is done in a great manner by Karmakut.
