The Biden administration never wanted to win the war, they only wanted to freeze the conflict. For fear of "escalation", they wasted years and lives with piecemeal scraps, with no overarching goal of how to produce a decisive Russian defeat in the finite length of time they had before the pendulum in Washington inevitably swung right again, like it always does.

The guy had been facing EU sanctions over corruption that he fostered, but managed to blackmail the EU into acquiescence in exchange for his cooperation. Sounds straight as an arrow to me. That man looks out for himself first and foremost. Which is typical of the type of leaders who associate with Russia. With regards to James Rothwell's assertion that TAURUS is "much more powerful than Storm Shaddows" (22:15) and that "TAURUS missiles do have a considerably longer range than Storm Shadow" (30:37) and when quoting Mr Scholtz "it's got enough range to strike Moscow" (24:52)... Implying that Storm Shadow doesn't already. What's James source that TAURUS has a significantly longer range than Storm Shadow? Every publicly available source I've seen lists them both around 500+ to 550km, both of which are quite capable of hitting Moscow from Ukraine. France DID produce an export version of SCALP for flogging to the middle east with reduced range (of around 300km) but Britain did not buy these, it didn't have them stockpiled so CANNOT have supplied these to Ukraine! We gave them a missile with a >550 km range (so enough to theoretically strike Moscow) but (so I hear) with software geographically limiting targeting within Russia along with supply agreements that Ukraine won't use them on internationally recognised Russian soil (so Crimea is fair game). I don't know if there's something in the way TORUS's coded that would prevent a similar software-based limitation, or just that Germany is unwilling to try because they fear "escalation". I believe Ukraine is asking for them simply because a) its another stockpile of missiles (there are a finite amount of Storm Shadows in the world) and b) the political "win" of there being nothing Germany won't supply to help Ukraine... But this has instead been blown out of all proportion & become a white elephant. Since Storm Shadow can already strike the Kerch strait bridge from Maldova, anything longer-range isn't really needed unless the West is okay with Ukraine using them to strike deep inside Russia (eg at air bases or arms factories etc). So if we want Ukraine to be able to target places like Engels or Akhtubinsk air bases, we need to give them a missile with much longer range (>800km) than either Storm Shadow or TAURUS, the obvious one being Tomahawk (which have ranges varying from 1,300-2,500 km)... Why do we hear so much about Germany not supplying TAURUS but not a peep about America not supplying Tomahawk?

Don't forget Germany pioneered both cruise (V1) and ballistic (V2) missiles, so they have the most expertise.
@sergarlantyrell7847
@sergarlantyrell7847 Ай бұрын
@@panglayman5576 There is almost nothing in common between the V1 and TAURUS, other than they're both cruise missiles. Not to mention that post-WW2 the German armaments industry was pretty much dismantled & Fieseler (who made the V-1) went back to making cars before shutting down a couple of years later. So there was no transferable knowledge or staff or anything that would give them any sort of advantage 50-60 years later. Apply that logic to how Britain invented the tank... But only the most enthusiastic teaaboo honestly thinks Britain has the most expertise in tanks anymore. What matters is consistent investment & development as well as recent experience. Hence why the US has overtaken everyone in that department. MBDA Deutschland on the other hand, hasn't ever produced a cruise missile (other than TAURUS) or really any sort of air-to-ground missile.

I imagine French and Polish troops can take over air defenses of major Ukrainian cities like Kiev and Odessa. Ukraine had a third of the USSR's nuclear potential, that is, absolutely sufficient to defend itself against the aggression of any other country. However, the US leadership has made titanic efforts to convince Ukraine to abandon its real nuclear umbrella in exchange for virtually worthless "guarantees" of security from the United States and other countries (in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the Budapest Memorandum). If Ukraine had not deceived the American "guarantors", then this war would simply not have happened now, since the Russians would not even have risked an attack. Therefore, Donald Trump's proposals regarding military assistance to Ukraine for its physical survival sound to the rest of the world as a demonstration that the US guarantees are the purest deception, and Donald Trump's proposals are a completely cynical and brazen mockery of Ukrainians. Donald Trump's statements regarding Ukraine make it clear to the whole world that the US "guarantees" are not worth the paper on which they are written, and therefore the only reliable means of protection against aggression is exclusively its own nuclear weapons, since the US president may be a person who complies with previously concluded agreements, or maybe There may also be Donald Trump, whose policy involves violating previously concluded agreements in order to implement his own current selfish interests. Even in the recent past, Donald Trump tried in vain to persuade Kim Jong-un to stop his nuclear program, but the current calls of Donald Trump only work into the hands of the leader of North Korea and Iran too!)))) What is the point of concluding any security agreements with the United States if the next president can violate them??? Military assistance to Ukraine is not a whim of Ukrainians, but a means to ensure their survival, and a means to protect Europe from a subsequent Russian attack. The seizure of Europe, nuclear strikes on the United States, on European countries - this is what is constantly discussed in propaganda talk shows on Russian state TV channels!))) Previously, Russians publicly discussed the attack and occupation of Ukraine for many years, and in 2022 they moved from words to deeds! Therefore, do not have any illusions about Donald Trump's ability to "negotiate" and his "foresight", nor about the aggressive plans of the Russians!))) And yet, if Donald Trump considers it possible to sell on credit the assistance that should be provided to the victim of an attack in accordance with the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, then why not introduce in the United States a fee for calling the police, a fee for going to court, since now everyone pays, and only victims of crime need help???

Men under 27 are not conscripted in Ukraine. Until they lower the age to 18 they have no right to demand that people from other countries make sacrifices.

What if Zelensky on behalf of the citizens of Ukraine including ethnically Russians would invite the EU to occupy and rule the yet Russian unoccupied territory and call it EU territory, would this stop Russian military aggression? After all, the present free Ukraine is sovereign and the free land and its people are sovereign until they are conquered. Then at some date in the future the EU could voluntarily return the rule back to the Ukrainians.
