The patience this must take is beyond me but my God is this satisfying to watch. I can only imagine how you feel looking at a finished job.

I was watching the video and wondering does lead need to be heated or annealed to remove work hardening. Then you bring out the torch. Excellent work. Cheers

Thanks. It doesn’t have to be annealed but really helps it’s workability.

I am wondering if Lead the best matterial for this kind of application? I know it's very heavy and also toxic metal so can you explain what is the benefit of using it? I love your videos and you skill level btw, "Πολύ καλός Μάστορας" as we say in Greece.

Is there a school or apprentice program where one can learn about the type of lead working that you perform? Thank you in advance, Daniel

Yeah there’s a couple options. If you need some genuine advice please feel free to message me at leadworksw@gmail.com

How do you guys prevent lead exposure? I’m sure gloves and such. But there has to be some risks right?
@leadworksw Жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure. Blood tests are a must. Avoid cross contamination and welding fumes must be avoided at all costs.

What is that yellow tool called? I need to do this on a weird part of my roof. I live in Seattle, so, pretty wet most of the year.

What kind of material is this metal?
@magic787878 Жыл бұрын
Lead sheet. Judging by its thickness I'm guessing it's either Code 5 or 6

Very cool.

that roof aint cheap is it sir?? :-). But it's best. And last a life time for real.
@magic787878 Жыл бұрын
Correct. It lasts ages (most of lead sheet manufactured in the UK comes with at least 60years warranty), but its very expensive. The roll of lead shown in this video must have cost around £500.
@ZincOxideGinger Жыл бұрын
@@magic787878 By roll; are you referring just to the piece your kneeling and working on?
@magic787878 Жыл бұрын
@R B Yes, the piece, the author of this video is working on. Its most likely 6meter long piece, about 1200mm wide and quite thick (my guess is Code 5 or 6)
@Martycycleman Жыл бұрын
What's great about it? They have stretched the lead to shit. I wonder how thin the lead is on the roll?
