I was thinking of doing somthing like this setup for awhile, I was going to aim for bigger screens to avoid so many bevels in my view. But in the end i scrapped the idea and just got 1 big screen. No stretching, no bevels, just 1 big space for anything awesome. It works perfect for gaming, the only flaw is low qaulity content, like in 280p youtube videos you see every flaw

I've tried 3 monitor eyefinity with League, and there are some large downsides to it: 1) Since your effective screen size is so large, if you are used to panning the screen by mouse at the screen borders, the side borders are much farther now than the top and bottom borders. 2) A good league player needs to be looking at the map constantly, and this resolution pushes the map to the far right of your direct line of sight. So a few game optimizations and this would be pretty slick.

theres a difference between screen size and resolution. you can have a 22 inch and 42 inch screen, but they both display 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. if you add a screen, you have more pixels. so it adds viewing area and doesnt stretch whats being displayed. ie. 1 screen = 1920x1080; 2 screens = 3840x1080; 3 screens 5760x1080. also note that is if they are in widescreen, landscape position, not portrait as in this video.

Despite what most people seem to think, there are no bits "lost" behind the edges of the monitors.What is displayed on the right edge of one screen is one pixel away from what is displayed on the left edge of the next. You just have to deal with lines in the middle of your screen.
@Alpha226113 жыл бұрын
@solidsnake9254 they aren't covering the screen, where one screen stops, the other picks up. There's no space between them

@101HeyNow Having the curved setup esp in the above game allows you to detect players coming from a direction you wouldn't see on one screen. As well having the larger resolution aside from the pixels (which do make a big diff when you're focusing on up close detail, maybe not so much for general graphics), add more field of view thus you'll see 3x the map. Try playing on 1920 x 1080, and then 5400 x 1080, it's not comparable.

The black lines are the separate monitors. No way to get rid of those unless you make one large screen.
@tombokkers199712 жыл бұрын
that is totally different. Taking in consideration that the refresh rate is almost always limited with larger screens, the resolution is limited to 1080p AND it isn't curved.

GOD I want to play this game now. I've missed Warcraft 3 for so long, and I just can't take it anymore!! I miss the custom games/maps, and I miss the community. I just need my fix, and as soon as I get my G73 back from the factory (overheating, probably bad thermal paste like I heard of from others), this will be one of the first things I install. And that display is MEANT for strategy games, good God almighty.

@TheDank1887 My guess is he likes the wrap around look, so he feels like he is more immersed. If I was going for the immersion factor, I would get the new Sony 3D VR goggles. That thing is wicked and makes you feel like you are really there. All you see is the 2 miniature screens only a few inches from your eyes. I would turn off the lights and get lost in that thing. Search "Sony personal 3d viewer", will make you fall in love since it is OLED, 3D and does 720P, pretty good for a VR set.

these setups are fun if you like seeing black lines in your field of view. The real gamer still games with 1 monitor.
@GaMEChld12 жыл бұрын
The human eye has a limit in differentiating pixel density, not number of pixels. More pixels is more viewing area. The retina display doesn't have anywhere near the number of pixels this setup has, but its pixel desnity is extremely high, such that the eye has trouble seeing the individual pixels. On this setup, you'd be able to see the individual pixels, but that's not the point. The point is he can basically have view of half the map at once. The real area this shines is in FPS games.
@GaMEChld12 жыл бұрын
Haters gonna hate! For those of you bothered by the black bars, the best application of this configuration is in FPS type games where the side monitors are essentially filling your peripheral vision. You still look straight ahead as you normally would, but it adds a sense of immersion. The black bars fade away from thought, as would a window pane when your attention is on what is outside the window. Well, that's the best way I can explain it anyway! Hope that helps!
@ThoseTesTis13 жыл бұрын
@ThePanguin The higher the res in League, the more of the map you see. So multiple screens are inefficient with the black bars, but a higher res is better.

@ZeroController I doubt there is a 52' with 5400x1920 resolution. Its not about size, it's about viewing distance.
@SuperCoolLemon13 жыл бұрын
@ZeroController uh a 50" screen will give you a res of 1920 x 1080. I'm just assuming monitors don't go to that size so the 2500 x 1600 res is not really a factor but if so its still really not. Seeing he has them turned and with 5 of them he will bring in a total res of 5400 x 1920. His insanity doesn't go without reason.

@SwiftFishy It actually doesn't. i have a 3 monitor setup which i mostly use for racing, and i rarely even notice it. I don't have any experience playing moba's, but i would imagine it is a little more noticeable since you aren't looking "beyond" the screen like you are in race sims
@Matticitt13 жыл бұрын
@damian6831 You know it's not about the size ? It's about the resolution, because even a high end 60" tv is 1920x1080. Although I agree that 5 screens is to much. 3 are enough by all means.

Your assumptions are correct in these circumstances but i would still prefefr to have the one or two bigger screens as, despite the loss of quality, there is an advantage when doing cirtain tasks as i found when using other eyefinity setups that the borders of the screens get in the way and break ip the words when you are trying to read them, SOLUTION?!

For this game, no. For racing and fps games, however, it's truly amazing. You don't even notice the monitor bezels because the extra monitors are just there for the peripheral experience and increasing your FOV. You say "not for me" cause you've never seen nor tried it. I was picky about it too until I setup 3 monitors to test Dirt3 and BF3 and it provides the best gaming experience. My 65" TV can't keep up with this :P

More then one screens generally has more quality since your running not one 50" monitor at 1920*1080 but 3-5 monitors at 5760*1080 or 9600*1080 which in theory is more pixels which would provide better quality. I could be wrong but that is my assumption.

@Mayochapstick Strange. I've helped a number of poeple do projects like this. You remove the frame and re-seat the control board to the back of the monitor itself instead of the frame. If you happen to snap a wire, then you envolk the power of a soldering iron. The only thing you are right about is that it does in fact void your warranty. If you are too afraid to do the complete job, enjoy your giant distracting lines and try to refrain from flaunting your mediocrity...
@ThoughTMusic13 жыл бұрын
@Mayochapstick No, if you read your own statement, you state that people don't do it because they would find a boarder underneath the frame itself that will defeat the chances of removing the spaces between the monitors and apparently make the monitor unusable. That is wrong. If you can live with the spaces, fine, but don't try to show off unless you actually CREATE a good setup. That's my point. Don't try to hate just because of "you" inferior claim.
@RickyTricky9013 жыл бұрын
I'd rather have one gigantic tv in the middle then one on each side of that to avoid the black lines, and still allow my peripheral vision to see the others.
