1:54- God noticed Leah and loved her. Jesus came from one of her descendants, Judah. Not Rachel. 2:58- The way Laban treated his daughters as if he was selling cattle to a buyer really bothers me. Of course the incest fact that Jacob got with his cousins and Isaac and Rebekah are also cousins. Abraham and Sarah were siblings, I know God did what he needed to do to create more people. It's just gross how the first three patriarchs married and had sex with their blood relatives. I know God never liked incest either and back then he only did it to populate the earth, it just became more disgusting when the more people who came to be were literally making that the norm and even liking sleeping with their family members. 12:41- Whenever I read in the Bible the verse that says 'Leah had weak eyes', I feel a sharp pain in my heart because that's a cruel thing to say about someone. And I know God definitely DID NOT think that of Leah. So I find it hard to not be angry at Jacob for calling one of God's creations ugly. 13:06- Another observation I always notice is mistakes repeat themselves throughout the Bible. Rachel did what Sarah did, not trusting God's timing and forcing another woman onto Jacob continuing the toxic, dysfunctional baby mama culture(Jeez, we can't get away from it even back then). Even funnier when you realize women started the baby mama toxic culture cliché. I know Leah did the same thing too. And now I understand where the curse of Jacob's favoritism came from and it wasn't by him, it was by his parents; Isaac and Rebekah.(Parents really got to stop that). And Jacob's spinelessness to discipline Simeon and Levi for repeating Cain's sin also the neglect of Dinah always hurts me(I also see David made that same mistake by not doing anything to help his daughter, Tamar and didn't discipline Amnon). Abraham pimping his wife to other men to protect himself and then Isaac did the same selfish act later to Rebekah urks me too because I know God wanted husbands to love and protect their wives and yet the first two patriarchs threw Sarah and Rebekah to the wolves. Thank God he protected them when their husbands failed to. Makes me think of after that happened with Adam and Eve how men and women really had a wall between us. Even after Cain murdered Abel, more men treated women like property instead of humans and women grew a resentment of men and leading to the annoying ass sexism that plagues us now in bloody 2024. I pray that people get it together before Jesus gets here. Because this divide is ridiculous.
