Dougla is another word for mix in Guyana especially when you can’t tell the person ethnic background, as a person with mixed heritage I simply refer to my self as a West Indian

I'm Mauritian and we have the same kind of culture to Trinidadian's and Guyanese people but we are in Africa so we have black, white, Chinese, Indian influence too and we are on an island and one of my favourite foods is roti and curry 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I live for roti fam been making it since I was a kid can do it in my sleep

It's only been 2 days and their have already been countless incidences. It's even more scary for minorities who go to PWI in the south. I know at my university they suggest that students who are minorities should be cautious walking around town, especially at night

I’m black, Dominican, and Trinidadian 🇩🇴 🇹🇹. I get a lot of feedback from others saying I’m too dark to be Dominican and because I’m not fluent in Spanish but im Dominican on my dad’s side . I dont have a real relationship with him . I think if anyone in these comments get negative feedback like i did too just don’t worry about it and keep being yourself .

The enthic group for Guyana is called The West Indies. For example: My Background is Jamaican , I am Canadian but my enthic group is stilled called The West Indies. Many Carribean islands share the same enthnic group. :)
