Dougla is another word for mix in Guyana especially when you can’t tell the person ethnic background, as a person with mixed heritage I simply refer to my self as a West Indian

I’m black, Dominican, and Trinidadian 🇩🇴 🇹🇹. I get a lot of feedback from others saying I’m too dark to be Dominican and because I’m not fluent in Spanish but im Dominican on my dad’s side . The enthic group for Guyana is called The West Indies. For example: My Background is Jamaican , I am Canadian but my enthic group is stilled called The West Indies. Many Carribean islands share the same enthnic group. :)
