I'm ready for the ACE, right now! I have had a roam but the overall battery life was horrible. I used it multiple times a week but only got about 2 years out of it. It won't work at all now. I bought the garmin 1040. really hate it. touch screen is horrible when it rains and sucks with gloves too. Every time I touch it with my fingers, I'm getting a smudge or a smear on it. When it rains, every rain drop affects the screen -switching it to some other screen. Size of the ace screen is big and I don't really need it that big, but for a better battery and button control, I'm all in. I will buy this as soon as I can.

I’ll definitely buy it, I already have every model they’ve made to date, the original Elemnt was so so and always had condensation behind the screen, but I like the simplicity of Wahoo, I’ve also got a Garmin 1000, way too many things to play around with, I’ve given it to my wife.

@justinjewell10436 күн бұрын
It's so hard to see in bright light, and I don't have particularly bad eyesight. Have always wished they would update it so that you can disable the ambient light sensor and allow you to max out the brightness at all times. I understand why they don't: battery life. Just wish they would give the user that choice as I'd gladly sacrifice a couple hours of battery to actually be able to see the display at all times.

I think Wahoo is going to price this below the Garmin, but not by much. I can't imagine them putting it out there at almost double the Roam V2. I don't think their customers are going to be willing to pay that much of a premium. But who knows? I have the Roam V2 and I would really appreciate a larger display. I'd buy it in a heartbeat mainly for the aluminium mount *and if its back tab is made of aluminium too* - and even better if said back tab is replaceable. It still boggles my mind no major brand offers any option to replace the back tabs of their head units. I had a stupid crash just a couple months after getting my Elemnt Roam 2 and everything was ok - except its stupid weak back tab. Good luck if you want to replace it, and even more good luck if you can replace it without losing its "aero".
@kiyonami20098 күн бұрын
Couldn’t agree more! I actually have plumber’s teflon tape wrapped around the tab area since my Bolt V2 was getting wobbly. Now I’ve also added a touch of Loctite mounting putty to my Silca titanium mount. Ridiculous.

I'm 55 and have a harder time reading smaller text, so I went with the 1040 and now 1050 from Garmin so I can keep the same number of fields on my main display, but have a larger font. I was frustrated with the issues I've had with finding a mount that actually does work (some claim they do, but don't, at least with my S-Works Future Stem's front mount).

Bigger screen absolutely BUT not at the cost of a bigger unit. They need to be shrinking the bezels. The Wahoo doesn't look to bad in that regard. I'm excited to learn more about it. Wind sensor what for???? watts are watts no matter the wind is coming from, if you want to have a real power metric, get power meter(s) period. If you have head or tailwind while riding your wattage is gonna be recorded accordingly with your power meter(s). If you need to pedal harder or easier because of the wind direction, then your power meter is gonna register that. Bah, that's not remotely innovative enough for my taste. What we want (we just don't know it yet) is - A one-pane-of-glass information device - It shall be an aerodynamic windscreen that improves our drag coefficient - It shall have on-screen display of speed, power, heart rate, navigation, etc. - It shall have AI supported reality augmentation (e.g. scan other rider's chain/cassette and display what gear they're in) - It shall have a glycogen prediction engine (i.e. "carb battery indicator") - It shall have a whole app infrastructure ( so that I can live stream and share my view with my jealous friends or send inconsequential and purpose-less tweets while riding) -It shall have an entertainment library (listen to music, watch movies etc.) - optional: stretch this device from front to back of my bike (weather protection for the rider) - optional: add two more wheels to my bike, with additional seats for passengers and a combustion engine so that I don't have to pedal anymore Well, this escalated quickly, didn't it

A bell on a bike computer is SILLY.
@Rory_-ty7fp5 күн бұрын
Not really. It’s actually super useful to have a bell built into the computer. On my gravel bike I have aero bars so cannot fit a bell, plus I would rather use my voice to warn people I am coming than have an ugly bell on the bike. But if my bike computer had a bell it would be awesome as I dont need any extra mounts and it wouldn’t affect the aesthetics of the bike at all. I do understand for most people a bike computer not having a bell isnt a big deal. But for the more competitive athletes they tend not to have bells on their bike so this will fix that problem.
