I've always been baffled that LEGO hasn't stepped into the anime market sooner, given how popular the medium is internationally. And there are plenty of kid-friendly anime to turn into sets too: Sailor Moon, My Hero Academia, Card Captor Sakura, Naruto, Studio Ghibli's catalogue, Doraemon, Gundam, Astro Boy, etc. All of these would be sold out rapidly (if the Animal Crossing sets are anything to go by). I really hope this DBZ leak is true, it's been my dream theme as a kid

Hmm not really we seen LEGO do Anime and they have with Exo Force in '06 and it was their take on classic Anime And we have seen another Anime/Live Action LEGO Speed Racers in '09 for that Movie no one liked ;< But LEGO pushed the Monkie Kid theme since 2020 I think and that was the theme they went for because that's their version and take on Anime sure the eyes are colored with no pupils and the faces aren't exaggerated mind you it's for kids so they don't need to do exaggerated face expressions and grins However I think they're stepping in Shonen Anime Intellectual Properties because many Teenagers and Adults collect Anime Stuff and Merchandise even straight from Japan The closest thing we have to LEGO Anime is LEGO Sonic the HedgehogI think LEGO is actually doing something very very good never had we had a LEGO Leak that's this astonishingly pleasant The last theme we went this shock was the LEGO Simpsons theme I remember watching Brick Builder Video's in 2014 mindlessly watching Now what I want to see is Black Box 18+ sets of sets and MBS Sets the amount of possibilities are endless a MBS Goku Vs Vegeta and Nappa MBS Set with the "IT'S OVER 8,000" quote and Luffy's Ship or Shank's Ship UCS Ship sets

The way Goku’s figure is described leads me to believe (and hope) we’ll be starting with OG Dragon Ball sets. His attire early on is just a sleeveless, indigo, karate gi which could easily be depicted through two-color printed legs and a “normal top.”

Something I find interesting is that there is no live action of dragon ball in the works so LEGO would presumably be basing these on the manga or anime. If this is real hopefully that means that we can eventually get the anime versions of one piece characters.I read a possible explanation that LEGO is making the Netflix version because it’s cheaper to license and they already have a relationship with Netflix. Maybe they wanted to license both from shuesha but it was too expensive so they just got permission for dragon ball and the cheaper live action one piece. Idk if that even makes sense but that’s my guess

To be honest I don’t know how I feel about Lego Dragonball, like Dragonball doesn’t feel like a franchise that would make for very inspired sets. A lot of the iconic locations are pretty bland design wise and the series is so combat focused I feel if it’s just static displays you would lose a lot in transition. If the are doing it I’d want to see some really cool play features to make the sets feel more like dragonball, to give that feeling of combat the series is all about.

What's are you even on? Kami's lookout, kamehouse, fortuneteller baba's palace, king kai's planet and the snake way would be divine designs in Lego form. Not to mention others like all the tournament arenas and Capsule Corps headquarters and all types of terrains shown in the Manga and anime . I fail to see how any of these would make for boring set pieces
