I have been just kinda cherry picking through his latest ones. They're entertaining enough still. He points out stuff that I wouldn't think twice about. Idk how old it is but I recently saw one he did on a crate of old Soviet block 7.62 ammo. He's kinda all caught up on any power tools I'd care to see him review. He's kinda limited that way so I cut him slack on the field trips. His "fauxcabulary" (lol) was kinda annoying at first but it kinda grows on you, huh... I find myself using some of it sometimes

I've often cut my own rubber washers by slipping a rubber tube fully on a drill bit in a drill and running the drill as I run a knife blade through the rubber. Any thickness with a perfect square cut. From paper thin washers and on up. You can even slip larger diameter rubber hose on hole saws to cut float bowl rubber gaskets for small engines. Great video as always !!!

Great job extending the life on the couplers. I used to go with the Harbor Fright fittings years ago, but found it to be really false economy. I'd end up with more leaks and compressor run time which equaled more wear on it. Changed them all out for Miltons, best investment on the air system. I've used this method on water faucets for 30+ years, makes perfect sense for air too. Thanks for posting!

The tire chuck you recommend in the description is the one I've had for about 6 years. It's always outside in the elements and has been knocked around plenty but it still works great and doesn't leak any air. It's a bit bulky. More so than some lock on chucks but not as much as others like my old one that always leaked and would pop off if it wasn't on just right.

Great information on the connection repair. I do have one small negative that has been a life long pet peeve of mine forever. The channel locks were used correctly when you took the fitting apart but backwards when putting it back together. Not like a lot of force was required but it really makes a difference when a sure grip is required.

DoingItCheap Good and bad with either style. The steel rusts but takes a beating. The brass ones, you drop the hose a handful of times during normal shop stuff and it gets all bent and distorted and doesn’t seal or even connect.

Chucking the male end in a drill press or lathe to make sure the end is filed square can save you from replacing the o-ring. the ends get dented easily especially on the aluminum adapters so a good touch up is the first thing I'd try. thanks for the video.

Good video and tip! The last 2 cheap air tools I've bought came with a quick connect that leaked out of the box. I honed the flat tip like where you filed yours, but the actual problem was they were ever so slightly too short, from the triangular locking part to that sealing tip end. Had to replace them, no way to fix that.

Great vid. Now I'm glad I saved most of my leaking brass female plugs. I remember, many years ago I learned to use a flathead screwdriver to freshen up the brass Female end by inserting it in and twisting the flathead against the round contact surface that the Male plug pushes against. I don't recall that ever working well or at all. Now I see the fault in using that method.

Omg this is awesome 👏 I feel so stupid as I thought it was the clamping force of the balls that would wear out! Thank you

The ball holes where out also , especially if you use air chisel or air chipper and the chipper is the worst and can wreck the coupler in one use , l have wrecked a few and need to put a 3 foot whip hose on it like l did the air chisel . Air wrench's should have whip hoses also .
