Peter’s response to Carter’s stabbing was so brilliantly done. You could see Peter was struggling and terrified he would lose John. His best friend. Benton loved John like his little brother. John idolised Peter. What a friendship.

Nathan White the actors are absolutely fantastic but they were given such wonderful script. Loved how Benton & Carter developed over the years. I bet Michael Crichton had no idea on the pilot episode of how far he could take those two characters incl Greene. Currently watching the entire rerun of ER on Channel 4. They stream one series per week. Fantastic to binge watch. (Guilty pleasures) Hooked all over again. That is what is missing off tv today. Nothing quite like the original ER. All others are imitations.

He really needed someone like Benton in his life, what with his emotionally distant mother, a father who could never relate to his son until Carter himself lost a child, his judgmental grandfather who blamed his grandson for his cousin's heroin overdose and the only other family member who actually gave a damn about him was his grandmother, who died and left him alone all over again. Benton saved him in many ways and I'm so thankful he had that support and unconditional love.

I love these two, especially how they showed how much Benton really loved Carter, like when he came running when Carter got stabbed and was there for him when Carter had to go to rehab, they did a awesome job

I think that on some level, Carter wanted to get caught shooting up like he did. Otherwise he wouldn't have done it in a such a public part of the hospital. It would not have ended well for him---either overdose, leading to death or permanent brain damage like his cousin and futher endangering patients and giving them less and less Fenanyl so he could feed his habit. Benton really did save his life.

Dr Benton was the most outstanding character and of course, it was from Erich LaSalle. He deserved the leading role in the series.

peter benton truly admire and respected carter because carter did not have the aires of a poor little rich kid. he asked no favors and wanted to be treated like any other struggling med student. i think peter loved that quality in john. but i often wonder how a pairing of peter benton and abby would have worked out. both had a hard time letting people in and between all those quirky eye movements and shoulder shrugging, they would have made the"coldest, non-romantic" couple on tv.

I LOVED Carter, couldn't stand Benton (I called him BEND Over) He was so arrogant, self centered, a bit to Standoffish at times (IMO) He was in COMPLETE DENIAL when Carla told him that baby WASN'T his!!

Getrealpeeps It was love hate with me but Carter seemed to Bring out Benton's humanity. This song does explain them.
