LeAnn Rimes in Concert Disney Special - June 22, 1997

LeAnn Rimes in Concert is a Disney Channel Concert special that aired on the Disney Channel in June of 1997. The concert was recorded at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and consisted of performances of songs featured on Rimes' albums 'Blue' and 'Unchained Melody: The Early Years'. The concert also consisted of Rimes' rendition of Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and two songs that were later released on her album, 'Sittin' on Top of the World', a year later. A contest was also held during the airdate (June 22nd) where fans called in to win a chance to meet Rimes by singing her debut single "Blue".

Thank you so much for uploading this classic!! This concert is special to me. As a child, this was one of my first music specials I watched on Disney. I became an instant fan and bought LeAnn's cassettes and CDs. Watching this allows me to reminisce of my childhood.

It's mind-blowing to know she's only 14-15 yrs old here... & imo, this is one of, if not the best live vocal performances of her's - to have this much untaught talent at such a young age is incredible. It really shows just how amazing her vocals really are.

Would love to see this get remastered and released on blu-ray. I was only five years old when this aired and was a huge fan. I feel like the 90's was the last decade that had real talent. LeAnn really is a hell of a singer from the time she started to today.

What a year I was living in rock Hill south Carolina I went too sunset park school 1997 was a good year for music I was a kid and I was having fun playing with toys in the back yard and drinking sodas and eating poptarts while parents were going too bible study miss those times both adopted parents have passed But the memories stay alive

nostalgia for me is having this on vhs cause we taped it so i watched over and over and over. Leann was my intro to country...this always meant so much to me as a fan and as someone who was serious about being in showbuisiness

I was 4 or 5 years old in 1997. I remember when I discovered I loved the sing. I sang one way tick in front of my hole family, I also remembered I was wearing shorts a pink fringe shirt with Minnie Mouse on it and braided pit-ales and sang my heart out this song. till this day now I’m 28 I’m still singing it at karaoke bars. I think thing song probably my forever and will alway stick with me.

I remember recording this on VHS and watching it over and over again. I am a year older than LeAnn Rimes and back when she became famous I wanted to be a singer just like her. It actually sent me into a deep depression because I wanted so desperately to be a famous singer but my voice was nowhere near extraordinary. Well today I'm 40 years old, I actually sing very well now but I honestly have no interest in fame.

@@EMFProductions I had an excellent copy in bhs, but one day they had a concert by Juan Gabriel at the fine arts theater and my wife recorded that concert in that bh and erased what I had there. I remember that they passed that success at dawn and the next day I had to work, but I did not miss it.

For being so young she is very rehearsad and not enthusiastic at all, a shame really because everyone loved her. I didn't get into her when she was big but I do think she has a wonderful voice and should be doing something with her life.

Her parents did everything for her and she became selfish a few years down the line . Her voice is wonderful but her parents should have seen it coming and made her finish high school first. This would have built her character and made her go through the ringer like other young singers. She had it too good.

Signed her multiple albums under one label that meant she'd be under obligation until she reached 60. Doing her as the family's cash cow and stole her hard earned money. Abusive isn't it? Good that she sued them coz she'd end up like Britney under conservatorship in one way or another. LeAnn is smart enough to avoid that.

Yes you are right about her recording contract and her Dad stealing her money. I too am glad she sued once I found out what really happened. I actually like who she is now. I don't know much about conservatorships, as I'm from Australia. However I don't think Leanne had the mental breakdowns that poor Britney had many years ago. I think Britney should have been treated better at the time she had her breakdown rather than just being forced to give up her human rights. Getting control of an adult's rights and financial affairs is far more difficult her in Australia than what it is in the US. I hope the laws change so that Britney's situation doesn't repeat itself. I'm glad she's now free to live her own life and control her hard earned money. I'm glad Leanne avoided Britney's situation.@@Ekis2011
