You're welcome! Hmm, interesting question. Yes, I often hear "on one hand" - and that might in fact be more common! When it comes to the second half of the phrase, though, it's always "on THE other hand" (and not "on other hand" or "on another hand").

Just found some data on this issue. Both variants seem to be used regardless any regional preferences. In the NoW Corpus "On the one hand" has 28822 hits. "On one hand", without "the" has 18297 hits - about 2/3 as many.
