Roblox Unions are pretty good up until you start getting more complex shapes involved, then it either: 1 - takes 10 years to process a single part 2 - the shading starts crumbling onto itself (also "divorce between roblox spheres" goes hard af as a line 🔥)

I've actually been doing a few sculptures and didnt really know this. i thought i would have to go to blender just to make it as one mesh, but im just assuming that it'll work.

I've made some very complicated things from unions before. I made a hexagon pillar with rounded edges, which took hours to make. The reason why I make stuff out of unions, I don't really know. I guess I just try and push the limits of what you can make with them. I also didn't use the intersect tool, because I somehow didn't even know about it. I would leave a link to the model I made, since I uploaded it and it's now a free model, but KZbin deletes my comment every time and I forgot to copy my previous comment.

Hey is there a way to update the collision of the part to reflect the actual visual shape when carving out parts of the part with a negate union? I tried it out and it seems like the part's collision does not change at all when creating a union with it and a negate part, only the visual looks of it

You increase the unions property, I can’t remember the property name rn but it’s “somethingFidelity”, so just set that to a high number and it should update collision

I cant learn blender for the life of me no matter how hard I try and Union is also just super fun to play with... though it often doesn't work best with the mirror plugin I use (and its temporary until i can learn blender 😭) also the time it takes at certain points is so bad 💀

If you need to make something simple, and not use collisions, then you can use unions. If you need collisions, you'll need to make a mesh. Unions have TERRIBLE collisions.

Is it possible to use these union functions inside a script? Like if i click on something itll create a rectangle with negative mass at that psoition and then union it to cut that position, kinda like cut the rope

From my experience, Unions are atrocious in optimizations. I made a shape using unions, looked at it using Blender, then found out that it's just made just to spite modellers.

dont use unions in roblox!! they are extremely laggy and are unoptimised for the roblox engine

That’s true, but they’re meant to be used more as a last resort imo, if you need quick access to a modelling tool
