Advance Steel automates the fabrication drawings, use Revit for design intent, Advance for Fabrication detailing

How can I set a layer in the advance steel dwg template that when the GA or assembly drawing dwg is created this same layer can be set turned off or frozen and not printed in the GA and Assembly dwg? It is that some times I need to use helping beams and those should not be in the drawing and I want to set them on a layer in the model dwg that when they are being turned in to the GA or assembly dwg they do not show up there as they would be on the layer that is set frozen and not printed. An other example is with guard rail posts on corners where two guardrails meet and one post needs to be set on this layer and of course un check everything in the behavior tab.

Dear Structural BIM, Could you please help me. I have a connection which one I beam and one I column. Need to draw a cap on top of the column and extend to beam. This cap shall be fasten to beam by bolts. I try to use knee connection to draw a cap and extend to beam. But I don't know how to add bolts. Thank you very much!

Hello guys, does anyone know how to setup advance steel so it puts created drawings(say GA, camera drawings, parts and assembly drawings) into the model space and not in pare/layout?

@@bim-things but the real issue is that i have one camera drawing and i made couple of cuts and view details on it, but the details can't fit in the same paper/layout so i want to have them in a different paper/layout. How can i do that? Please help cause i'm new in AS.

who else agrees that advance steel is bullshit? tekla is way much better. Usually when it comes to structure modelling I recommend using Paint and for structural analysis I overstate the beam's dimensions so I'm pretty sure the structure is enough stiff to resist superimposed buckling and wearability deflection bending flexural stress.

Hello Tutor. Thanks for the tutorial, but I regret to say it didn't help me because the type of base I was getting from the connection vault was different from yours. Also, I couldn't locate the apex haunch. I am also using Advanced steel 2019. I wish you could first give a getting started tutorial. Otherwise, I wasn't helped.
