Fighting honey i hope one day you can understand our language🙏🏻💕
As Thai people, the secret that makes you easy to learn Thai Language is you don’t need to remember all alphabets in Thai. Because , there are many alphabets that not use in daily life. It’s just for show in text book only. If you get it, you’ll get the easy way to learn Thai Language. And importantly, you don’t need to remember all grammar in Thai , bc in daily life the word, sentence, or the conversation is very flexible. Only you can make and understand Thai words, I think you can communicate with other Thai people for sure. Finally, I think Thai languages grammar is very easy it’s just “Subject + Verb +Object” If you know how to make the word = you can understand Thai conversation. I hope it’s useful for people who want to learn Thai Language. Don’t give up and remember “Thai is very easy if you understand it’s concept” ❤

@ペムペム5 жыл бұрын
@@김지호-u7y im thai & i used to learn kor & chinese (now im learning jpn) so as my consider kor is the easiest bcuz of alphabets but pronunciation is hard but not even as hard as chinese, for jpn the pronunciation is the easiest out of these three but if u learn more about jpn u'll know by urself that jpn is the hardest language more than kor & chin if u compared with grammars & kanjis alphabets (chinese characters but there r 2 ways to pronounce "kunyomi" & "onyomi" also the meaning of some characters arent the same at all) for basically conversation in jpn u should remember & know kanjis around 100+ more (but trust me it'd be better if u know 2000+) for chinese listening & writing are hardest but grammar is easiest out of jpn & kor which grammars r really similar with each others. So for me altho im thai but i think thai language is hardest as always bcuz the pronunciation, writing, listening, grammars (honestly nowadays when i had thai tested i cant get the full scores compare with kor chin jpn😢)

This is a GREAT refresher after many years of not keeping up with reading or speaking Thai much. I started learning Thai uhhh about 25 years ago and I learned the alphabet along with some basic words. My then-girlfriend and now wife of 23 years and is 2nd gen American of Thai extraction born in Texas. She grew up VERY self-conscious about speaking Thai and only speaks it if she has to. That’s a long story but some may understand. I am a bit of a language nerd so I just HAD to decode this beautiful language. I got a book and some tapes and off I went. My goal was to impress her mom and dad (the bar is much lower for me than my wife!). I tried to speak with a fluent (ish) native (ish) accent by imitating their prounciation amd shortcuts. Her parents and extended family loved that I was attempting to speak Thai and would help me. It helped me develop relationships with relatives who spoke almost no English. Most of her 1st gen fam speaks good English as they’ve lived and worked in the US since the 70s or 80s. Anyway I love languages and Thai writing is just so cool to me. It looks impenetrable at first but as you start to break it down it becomes easier. So thanks for these lessons - it’s slowly coming back!

Speaking from personal experience, learning Hangeul alphabet is super easy and there's no complicated writing rules or tones in the languages. However, the grammar rules... I cannot say the same. Chinese's sentence structure is easy to understand but the tones might confuse people and the writing system not complicated but you just need to memorise a lot. Both Mandarin & Korean didn't scare me as much as Thai language now scares me even though I am interested in learning.

I've just started to be interested in Thai, and yes, it looks difficult. Phonetics is even harder than Korean and Chinese, and also they don't make spaces between words, almost like Japanese. Maybe Thai is easier than those three, when you reach a more advanced level, but the learning curve seems steep.

As someone who knows Bengali, Hindi & survival level Sanskrit, this was surprisingly easy! I cruised through this video without having to pause, while simultaneously jotting everything down. Some letters are similar to Sanskrit and Bengali. Although, the other alphabets are different, but the structure (?) of constructing words is very similar. I think the main trouble I'll have is with figuring out the different tones since none of the languages I know (including Japanese, Korean & Spanish) are tonal languages. Thai will be the first tonal language I learn so I'm quite excited!

As a Thai person, our language is very...tricky. It's constantly evolving that sometimes even Thai people can't catch up. You can just one day wake up and then there is this new word/phrase used all over social media, you don't know where it came from but somehow you understand what it means even at first glance lol. Knowing how to read is one thing but understanding what you are hearing is a whole different level. But it's fun though. We do not use all of the 44 alphabets btw. 95% of Thai people can't even say all of them in the correct order without singing that ONE song we learnt in kindergarten (and many already forgot that song, including me.)
@spi58922 жыл бұрын
do you have any tips to keep up with Thai slang? I'm currently learning and after reading your comment, I realized that it's the same exact situation as the language I speak lolol
@-elysia-48232 жыл бұрын
@@spi5892 unfortunately, I personally don’t have any in mind rn…It’s all just…experiences , but Thai media like tv series might help. The best solution is to find a native friend though imo. Thai text book are pretty useless and not so practical since 80% of those who write them are conservative and don’t really open up for modern or new slangs (even a middle schooler or high schooler on twitter who can only speak everyday English are even more helpful.) Most of our new slangs usually come from our friends in LGBTQA+ community, they really are good with words to express mostly every thing, every time on every occasion. They are GOATs when it comes to inventing, evolving and shaping Thai people’s modern language lmao. I swear to god, this language can freakin twerk. The single word like ‘คะ?’ (Ka/Kha-I’m not sure what’s the one you learn but girls will end the sentence with this word to make the sentence sounds formal) can be interpreted either: 1. Beg your pardon? (means something like ‘I might heard it wrong/I didn’t hear what you just said so could you repeat it again?) 2. tf do you want? Wanna pick a fight? 3. Come again? What is this bs you just told me? 4. I dare you to fcking say that to my face again. (But this case maybe just the same as ‘what’ lmao.) Or ‘เก็บเงินแต่งหญิง’ can be either ‘save money to marry a woman’ or ‘save money to cross dress as a woman.’ And I think our newest favorite phrase rn is ‘สู้ชีวิตแต่ชีวิตสู้กลับ’ (roughly, ‘I fight my obstacles but the obstacles fights me back’) lmao. But to answer your question again: find Thai friend on that cursed bird app, it’s the fastest and most efficient way. (Sorry for not being really helpful but it is really the most effective way since we are constantly learning too y-y)

If you are even a bit off, the Thais will not even understand. it is a lot harder than this is made out to be by a long shot. Even if you can read, you HAVE to know the word in Thai to know the meaning the same as writing, so the learning order of speaking to reading is the issue depending on whether you want to learn the language OR REALLY learn the language. Chinese Mandarin is harder because of the OVERWHELMING characters you need to memorize and remember each stroke that the Chinese has. Thai is easier, but it's mainly hard because of the writing and tones. Overall, Chinese Mandarin is harder and Thai is easier.

I remember being to Thai in 2018 12, and It was a beautiful place. People were so polite, weather was humid yet beautiful, I loved Thai massages with aroma, the hotel and restaurants I've been to was so good. I loved loved loved the food! The streets were just beautiful, I remember all the plants on the streets. Most impressing was the golden palace (ok sorry maybe it was a temple). I realized how much of a beautiful country and culture was hidden in southern asia; Thailand. Especially remebering how the people were so friendly and polite. I really hope to go there again.

Hi I’m Thai and learning Vietnamese. Actually Thai vowels are very similar to Vietnamese but Thai differentiates between short and long vowels in orthography. Vietnamese has only two pairs: “ă/a”and “â/ơ”. Others are written the same, short or long: e, ê i/y, ia, o, ô, ơ, u, ư, ua, ưa. Phonologically, both Thai and Vietnamese are very similar. Thais can pronounce all vowels in Vietnamese without difficulty: a = อา ă = อะ, อั- â = เออะ e = แอะ, แอ ê = เอะ, เอ i/y = อิ, อี ia/iê = เอียะ, เอีย o = เอาะ, ออ ô = โอะ, โอ ơ = เออ u = อุ, อู ư = อึ, อือ ua/uô = อัวะ, อัว ưa = เอือะ, เอือ

i want to learn Thai and am glad I found this video which covers many things! Very helpful! May take me a while, but I'm thankful for who put this together
@surasint3 жыл бұрын
for the learners, the Alphabets or writing may look hard. But Thai grammar is VERY VERY easy. There is no verb form, no singular or plural forms, no superative form, and so on. So don't give up if you just see this video.
@sf64542 жыл бұрын
Omg thank uuuu that helps I'm also learning Chinese, which has no alphabet hahaha so it's kinda hard to memorize the characters, but its grammar is very easy too so it's not that difficult for me
@KnightOfEternity13 Жыл бұрын
But grammar is the easiest part of learning any language... While complex phonetics will not only be hard to pronounce properly or understand what's being spoken. It also makes learning vocabulary much harder, from my experience with Chinese. And most of your time will be spent learning vocabulary anyway.
@surasint Жыл бұрын
@@KnightOfEternity13 as a stupid language learners, I don't think grammar is easy. English Grammar is hard for me. Swedish Grammar is even harder for me. And Swedish is not ranked as hard language.
@KnightOfEternity13 Жыл бұрын
@@surasint Well, I agree, the difficulty can be subjective. I'm more an introvert and a visual learner, so tend to read a lot rather than speak. And maybe being a tech person makes it easier to "analyse" different sentence structures. I have been learning some languages which are considered to have a complex grammar and had not big problems, except of memorising many different forms, of course. From the other side, I always had a bad phonemic awareness and find that people with less experience in language somehow could grasp more from the spoken phrase than me. Honestly, I often fail to understand what a person speaks to me even in my own language. So Thai which combines Chinese tones and many difficult phonemes, seems like a hell language to me😀
@KnightOfEternity13 Жыл бұрын
@@surasint Also I think that grammar hardness is subjective as well. The more it's different from your own, the more difficult it seems. For example, Japanese has less verbs forms than Spanish, does it really mean it's grammar is easier? In fact languages with "simple" grammar like Chinese are often more hard, because they lack other "clues" which more "strict" languages have. When I see an Arabic verb, I can immediately understand that it's a verb, and it's in a plural form, so related to some subject and not another etc. When I see a Chinese word, I don't know how is it used in this context, is it even a verb or not
