That's because European Spanish are a mix of Celtic , Germanic and Arabig . The Hispanikans or Hispanics were one of the few Celtic tribes of the Iberian Peninsula , along with The Lusitans of Portugal and some French Celts that decided to fight The Romans when their arrival there was imminent , the rest of the Celtic tribes of what is now Portugal , Spain and Western France , where they primarily lived , crossed The English channel into what is now England Scotland and Ireland but the Hispanikans and Lusitans decided to stay in their homeland and fight The Romans. As matter of fact , when The Romans invaded Wales , specifically what is now Cardiff , they saw an enormous physical resemblance of The Silures to the Celts of the area that now is Spain , their physical features and in the way they dressed made them strongly feel that the ancestors of The Silures were Celts from the Spain area that crossed The English channel during the Celtic Exodus to the British Isles . The Hispanikans and Lusitans lost , but unlike those of others who decided to flee , their name lives now for eternity. The Visigoths , a Germanic tribe , conquered all of the Iberian Peninsula for I believe 5 or 6 centuries , as a matter of fact , the one of the most Spanish last names , Gomez , is a Castellanization of the Germanic Visigoth surname Gomerkson , which means ' son of the brave man' , and finally you have the Arabig influence with its tremendous knowledge of mathematics as it is attested in the mathematic complexity of Flamenco music. Flamenco , like European Spanish people , is the mix of Celtic , Germanic and Arabig rhythms.
