I wanted to tell you how awesome these videos are! I am 12 years old and over the summer I wanted to learn sign language. I have watched a few other people and I think you are the most detailed and specific of all of them which really makes you easy to learn from. Also, I appreciate the emotion you put into your videos to make them more exciting and fun. Now I communicate with a deaf girl at whole foods all the time and I can ask where things are. Thank you!

I think I have the signs down. But my facial expressions suck! Signing is so expressive, it seems. I'm learning that make the same 3 faces for everything.

Thank you so much for keeping these older posts up!! You really are an amazing teacher!! And For those of us with slower brains, the way you taught your “100 words “ video is the best…. Thank you! Thank you!

I love your videos so much. I am 14yrs old, and I have been working on ASL for about 6 months or so, but I cannot find any sign language classes that accept my age group...so I have mostly been learning songs in asl off youtube. I knew the alphabet and some simple signs but I was having trouble finding a good website to actually learn. About three days ago I discovered your videos, I decided to give them a try and they have helped me so much. I have even made flash cards of all the words you have taught so far! I have recommended you to four of my friends and 2 of them have already checked your videos out. Thank you so much!!

How are you? Its been six years. How was your asl journey?
@sophiecantelope7133 жыл бұрын
@@hannahmello3813 man this took me back! I am now 20 years old and unfortunately have to say my asl journey didnt continue for very long. I found very little support in learning as i was rejected from classes for being under 18. I still have all the flash cards i made and the alphabet will always be engraved into my brain! ❤️

Quick question Rochelle: When you circle an R around your cheek, does that signify your name (as in, R initial circling = Rochelle but we know your name)?

It's not covered here, but when signing dislike/don't like, I've seen it signed as "like" and throwing it away from you. Is that the official sign, or more like a slang?
@abigailgopher30439 жыл бұрын
+Alishia Gambino I've seen it the same way but I always think I've seen it the wrong way for many things because for some signs there are different ways or I just interpret it wrong and it get annoying

I've seen the sign for "weird" as a C hand shape across the upper chest area/lower face area. is it just a regional thing?
@bluebrookesongbird19 жыл бұрын
From what I've learned, what you're describing is also used as weird, but my deaf teacher and some other dead people I've met use that sign for "strange" or "bizarre" or "odd." Words like that. I hope that helps. (:

Isn't the sign for "frustrated" also the same as a curse word in ASL?
@bluebrookesongbird19 жыл бұрын
It's close, but it's not. It's kinda close to bitch. "Frustrated" is signed flat against your chin with all 4 fingers touching, as she showed, and "bitch" is signed in the same b hand shape but turned to the side with only your index finger touching your chin. If that makes sense... Maybe she will do a video on curse words so we can avoid accidentally doing them. Haha.

@breemitchell26128 жыл бұрын
You could try to slow the video down yourself actually: Click on the gear wheel (settings) and click your preferred speed...note: the speed above normal (.25 etc.) actually slow down the video. The ones below normal (1.25 etc.) speed the video up. Hope this helps!
