These are the kinds of videos na gusto ko. Yung may matututunan. Minsan kasi kahit alam nating mali ginagawa pa din natin kasi ganun yung normal or sinasabi ng karamihan. Pag naman itinama mo sila sasabihin 'ang perfect mo' or marumaru ka. Kaya hayaan ko na lang sila basta gawin ko yung tama. hehe.

Thank you for this ma'am! I'm a teacher myself for some years now so it's common for me to get to hear the sad news of people's passing (usually parents, grandparents or any relative of my current and past students). Given that, I get to see this word "condolence" misused or misunderstood even terribly at times. When the dad of a student died, for example, his classmate wrote to him on social media. "Sorry, man. Condolence to your dad." (Huh?!) Since you mentioned Kobe Bryant in your video, I also remember seeing a post: "RIP Kobe! Condolence to you!" So I think that we Filipinos should continuously refresh ourselves in the proper usage of certain English words and expressions before such mistakes get "fossilized". God bless!

PLEASE READ THIS! 😊 Ano ang CONDOLENCE? PANOORIN NYO ITO: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGfOkoqBh9iGmck Hello! Maraming salamat sa mga pumansin ng pronunciation ko ng 'CONDOLENCE' sa first part ng video. Hindi ko na naalalang sabihin yan sa video. Para sa mga manonood pa ng video na ito, tandaan po na ang pagkakasabi ko ng "CONDOLENCE" sa unang part ng video (nung nagta-Tagalog ako) ay kumpaano 'sya sabihin ng karamihan sa atin. ANG TAMANG PRONUNCIATION AY YUNG NASA BANDANG DULO NA NG VIDEO (sentences 3 and 5). Thank you! :) Para naman sa mga nagagalit, tinuruan ko lang naman kayo ng mga simpleng sentences na pwede nyong gamitin 'pag formally nyo na sasabihin yung pakikiramay nyo sa English. Nakakatampo kayo, hindi nyo man lang napansin yung pa Ma'am Charo chaka version ko! Hahaha... Very dynamic at fluid ang English language sa informal you can use condolence when speaking but when you write fomally tama yun sinabi dito sa video. Parang yun sa mga nababasa ninyo sa greeting cards ng Hallmark. Good job Teacher.

I agree with you. Teaching the right English is a must most especially that we literally interpret what comes to mind. It is preferably sending your sincere sympathy and in a way more of emphatic feeling to the bereaved family sharing your time to take part by sending comforting message of hope. As for me, I generally have a prayer inclusion. Thank you and God bless all Filipinos.

Para sa mga ordinaryo Pilipino kaartehan lang yan.. mas okay lang yong mag comment Ng condolence or nakikiramay kc maintindihan nila at walang mag judge. Kong gagawa ka nman Ng isang liham syempre d mo nman gagawin yon at magagawa mo yong tama or yong nais mong ipabatid. Pero syempre thanks sa info Para don sa iba na gusto mag try sa bagong kaalaman... Ako kc mas okay na ako sa nakasanayan Kong san komportable don Tayo!

Great to hear and read such wonderful, useful and informative phrases or sentences Ma'am. I myself was taught by my late Mother (also a retired public school master teacher) on how to properly express my sympathy to the family or surviving kin of a departed person. My favorite and most usual sentences are: "My sincerest condolences for the loss of your loved one. May God uplift your spirit/s and bring forth His comforting embrace upon your sorrow and bereavement."

Yes,indeed. I was born & grew up in Philippines in the late 40's. At the time of my childhood " I used to hear this an expression of grief if somebody is dead " condolence" to a bereaved family.On top of that,in school, we have learned " English the Second Language " & with correct usage. Why not bring this original expression ( Condolence greeting) to the Insular Teachers who were the pioneered English teachers that introduced English the Seconded Language in 1906 in Philippines.And, these people have helped our country to built Gabaldon Schools Elementary Schools. That's it!

Condolences’ root word is the verb ‘condole’, meaning, to comfort someone in his grief (death of a beloved); to share in his grief. “My condolences.” would be for a close friend. In a more formal setting, “Allow me to offer my heartfelt condolences to..” Then follow it up with, “ He was a good man.” and the like.

it is still THE PROPER ENGLISH WAY to say “CONDOLENCE” to someone who is grieved by a death in the family. That is the respectful way to share their loss.
@cupa6285
@cupa6285 3 жыл бұрын
i know the appropriate word for responding someone announcing they have witnessed or heard their loved ones passing away, and i felt saying condolence is just too... straight bruh, eventually i came to my own senses by saying "i give you my condolences"and the other terms of saying "I'm sorry to hear about you loss" like in this vid. and i thank you for giving awareness to ppl bcs i know they would still feel blank and leave ur msg on seen when it comes to that... well usually on text msgs.. but how much more face to face? that would be straight awkward when silence comes in

Yeah! Thanks for pointing out the background music. Hahahah...If you watch my latest uploads, they don't have background music anymore (except the QUIZ part). I realized the background music can be annoying especially if it's too loud. Hahahaha.. I really appreciate suggestions and comments. Thanks!

Hay eto na naman tayo. Sa pinas tanggap and kondolens. Gets na yun. Kung pasoshal ka e di gora ka jan sa tinuturo mo na i think is helpful naman. Parang "text" at "xerox" yan eh. Ang proper term jan ay SMS at Photocopy. Para sa pinoy tanggap na yan. Wag pahirapin ang madali. At iayon ang dapat sa nararapat.
