Thank you for taking the time out to explain. I was going to point out, the templates do not have little arrows to show the methodology on how to draw tge letters, as i noticed you sometimes stop and start again before you continue with certain letters. but towards the end of your video you did explain the looping technique - very helpful. Another video on hand lettering and a more specific explanation on how to draw the lettering (like you did with the loops) would be helpful. Thanks for taking the time out 👌 i will definitely be heading to your etsy store. By the way, when will 50 ways to write tge letter 'S' be available to download please?

It's so weird to think of adults practicing the alphabet, writing letters over and over again, like I did in 1st grade. I'm from Portugal and everybody learns to write like this at 6 years old and only at 5th grade we start to think this stile is for kids and we star changing our handwriting stile. Just thought it was interesting to share as I've noticed that in America that doesn't happen.

Everyone I know goes through this in the US as well, at least, we did in the late 90s when I was a child. However, we practiced to perfect our handwriting in print or cursive, we did not learn the style of calligraphy or professional hand lettering. That's why adults would be watching this video and writing the alphabet repeatedly, because they want to learn the intricacies of the techniques of calligraphy, how to use calligraphy pens/brushes, etc. Cursive is a type of handwriting. Calligraphy is a style/technique that can be added to cursive or print lettering. :)

Awesome video. Just as an FYI if you happen to live in the US, the Tombow pens are available over the counter at Hobby Lobby in a 2 pack, one hard, and one soft. If you have an issue with Hobby Lobby, I'm sure they are available at Michael's as well. Unfortunately HB is the only crafty place near enough for me to hit on my lunch break. That said, I stopped this video, looked up the pens, printed out a coupon and went and got them, then came back and started practicing right away. One set of the alphabet and my hand is sore! Too much keyboarding and not enough handwriting!

Is the pen you're using in this video definitely the hard tip version? I bought it from your recommendation from Cult Pens but the end is super hard and doesn't move softly like yours does in this vid....

+Katie Kookaburra Hi Katie - the one I'm using is the blue one which I'm almost certain is the hard tip. They also do a green one which is a much much softer tip. I've noticed with the blue one that as you use it more the tip naturally softens so once you've practiced a few times you may notice the tip is a lot softer :) Hope that helps xx
